My point is that a dash cam recording at 60fps must be using a faster shutter speed than it would need to capture at 30fps.

To capture anything moving at high speed, the higher the frame rate the sharper the image.

My solution which suits my application is to use a 2 hour timer and a single pole relay configured as per my diagram. Ignition circuit powers the camera while engine is running but when ignition is switched off, the 2 hour timer initialises to continue powering the camera from the cars battery...

If you need continuous power from your 3 vehicles, and almost any other vehicle out there, just connect straight to the battery but use an in-line fuse.

In one of my other cars I use a 10 second timer which only supplies power to the dash cam after 10 seconds.

I did have that problem. I discovered that if I turn the ignition on and then start the engine immediately the dash cam records every time. I've now bought a cheap Power Pack which I plug into the cigarette socket then plug the dash cam into the power pack. That seems to be a better fix to the...
