    Rear cam with tinted windows

This is through 18% Lluminar ceramic tint. Most modern sensors will do just fine and will still capture plate numbers as long as your tail lights are on. On my previous cars, I mounted the camera ON the glass but this time around, it’s mounted on the plastic interior moulding.

Looking for camera with WiFi for easy transfers and pre-buffered parking mode.

Hi all. It's been a while since I've been here. My most current camera is a Viofo A119 v.3 which I'm very happy with. But now I am looking for something newer. Here are my needs: Easy WiFi transfers. I've gotten used to the ease of downloading videos from my GoPro and would like something...

Best Motorcycle Dashcam for Recumbent Trike?

Camera stabilization is a lot more important on a bike than on a car since it's got a much shorter wheelbase and may not have much if any suspension. That's the reason I use Viofo cameras in the cars and GoPro or DJI on the bikes. Here's a snippet of my daily bike commute. A regular "dashcam"...

Know what Dash Cam this is?

Just taking a guess here but it looks more like a dashcam app recording.

    Apple AirTags.

Better put some air tags on your air tags so you can find your air tags with your air tags

    Apple AirTags.

I’m sure it’ll happen at some point but I’d like logging and notifications when a tagged object is moved.

    Apple AirTags.

Anyone purchase? I didn't intend to buy them as anti-theft trackers because they're not great at that. I use them as "I forgot where I parked" devices as I'm parked on a different block every day that I drive into work. Though a lot of YouTube videos are now demonstrating that they can be...

    GoPros

As a GoPro user, yes. It’ll work especially when you install QR control app with the custom firmware. There are a bunch of ways that recording can be triggered (power, sound, motion, etc.). But it would definitely not be my first choice. A $20 WiFi (Wyze) camera will work better and with a much...

    GoPro Hero 9

Maybe you've already read or seen this but GoPro labs has a bunch of really cool tweaks out for their cameras. And yes, they include triggering a recording when power is connected. Here's a really great video explaining how it all works:

Need home security camera with intermittent wifi

I can only speak of my Yi Home camera system and app from experience. On the "free" plan, my cameras upload 6 second clips to the cloud whenever a trigger (motion or sound) is activated. The caveat is that you'll need to be connected to an internet connection for this to happen. If your...

    DJI Osmo Action

Sunday's bike ride recorded at 2.7k. All settings are default with stabilization on. :)

    GoPro Hero 9

Agreed. GoPros are not dashcams...they're more of a "capture this cool moment" cam. See below: It writes 5 minute files until it hits the 120 minute mark and then it will overwrite the oldest 5 minute file. And I just tested out the 5 minute option: it creates 1 min files until it hits the...

The looping function isn't quite up to true dashcam functionality, yet. You have the choice of 120 min, 60 min, 20 mi, 5 min intervals until it writes over the oldest file. So it doesn't really fill up the card and then start overwriting the oldest file. It will hit the 120 min mark and then...

the RC (radio control) and electric rideables thread

The ones I've purchased? Yes. I've not had any reliability issues with any of them. I just fine-tuned what I liked and did not like with each one. My first one, the Aventon Pace 500 was really fast (unlockable to assist to 32MPH) but the pedal assist system was unrefined because it used a...

the RC (radio control) and electric rideables thread

Do it! If you get a bike with a proper pedal assist system (with torque sensor), it's really great cardio. I find myself on the eBike way more than when I was a road bike rider. That means more exercise over a longer distance. And I’m discovering way more trails than ever before.

the RC (radio control) and electric rideables thread

There are dongles and software to de-limit most systems but they cost at least $200 for a reputable solution if you're using one of the big motor makers like bosch/shimano/yamaha/brose. And you definitely want to do it in a way that it won't cause your warranty to be voided if service is needed.

the RC (radio control) and electric rideables thread

This one has the assist limited to 20MPH/32KMH. But it has enough gearing to get past that with your own power. I've not found it too restricting as I really wanted the assist to help with all the monster hills around here.

I miss this thread! Well, I’m on my third eBike. It’s a Yamaha Urban Rush. I purchased it in April and has been my main commuter as well as adventure mobile.

Thank you for the wise words. And yes, you’re absolutely right. Our infrastructure is lacking in most places and I definitely should have been riding more defensively. I had a “why did I do that?” moment after that.
