I have the 550 2ch with the latest Russian firmware. Is it just me, or are the dark scenes from the front camera darker than the rear camera? The daytime picture is plenty bright (almost too much) so I don't want to play with the brightness setting. Thanks for your thoughts.

The mirror is pretty solid, never strays from the set position. I've had my DOD GS600 hanging off it for years.

I emailed BlackVue to ask how the PMP could be re-calibrated to support a 12.4v cutoff. They replied that it couldn't. My second email suggesting that future models support a voltage that will actually protect the battery against drain went unanswered. IMO, the PMP is useless at the voltages...

Not happy with the stick-on windshield mount that came with the camera, I got to work in SolidWorks and designed my own. It has a big ring that the camera slips snugly into, and a piece that clips onto the rear-view mirror mount. A simple nut and bolt holds the mount to the mirror.

Never mind, I got 1.5 installed.

Any comments? I'd really like to not fry a brand new camera. Thanks :)

Looks like good quality and feature set, but the size of the front camera is a deal-breaker. 11cmx10cm screams "break into my car and steal the camera".

I don't understand the appeal of suction cup mounts. They're too obvious from the outside of the car and attract attention. I have a $0.25 cable clamp holding mine to the mirror.

For an all-in-one camera: -Small size, horizontal installation. No screen needed. Small LCD like those found on top of cameras would be fine for settings. -Power input: GND, +12v and ON. The ON input would be used to determine when to enable/disable parking mode motion detection. -1Hz GPS...
