    Cellink Neo doesn’t hold charge

Just drove home, dash cam came on when I started driving, got my Neo charge up to 83% on the drive, got home and shut off the engine, dash cam powered down, Neo held the charge. Looks like we’re back in business. Can’t understand why the 10A fuse blew in the first place, maybe a small power...

    Cellink Neo doesn’t hold charge

Thanks, I took my multimeter out to my car today and measured 13+ volts but 0 current at the wire harness before plugging into the battery. I opened up the fuse panel and saw my 10A fuse burned! I replaced with a 15A fuse and I got my Neo 6 to charge up to 9% from dead. I noted that it was...

    Cellink Neo doesn’t hold charge

Hi, I have a Cellink Neo 6, recently it has started to fail. I noticed first that my dash cam (Thinkware U1000) would not start up when I start my car. Sometimes it would announce that it did start a few minutes into my drive. Sometimes it would announce a second (or third) time that it was...

Dashcam viewer won't play front & rear at same time

I too would love to see something like this. I don’t necessarily hate the list view as an “advanced search”, but I would love the option of a more “basic” search involving clicking on a calendar day and having a list of recordings for that day. It might even be good if the list just showed the...

    U1000 RADAR Placement

The way the dash camera works in low power mode is that it is effectively “on”, but not writing to memory. The write to the SD card is energy expensive, so it just puts the recording into RAM, analyzes it for motion or impact, then dumps it from RAM. The RAM capacity is 30 seconds of data, I...

    Format Thinkware U1000

Interesting symptoms, I just experienced something similar. After weeks of working fine, one day during startup announcements it said to “connect to a wifi network that starts with thinkware.” I hadn’t heard that prompt since the camera was new. It also started beeping at medium potholes while...

How does this compare to the Blackvue

Interesting that you had shutdowns in the summer. I ran mine all summer long, daily driving an hour a day to/from work and never had a problem. Were you in France? That isn’t that far south like Florida in the USA. The Blackvue has a very different design, they have multiple PCBs stacked on...

How does this compare to the Blackvue

I’ve had my U1000 for a few months and I’m very happy with the cam. I don’t know if Thinkware cameras last longer than Blackvue cameras, or vice versa. I think it may be a function of the environment. Maybe parking your car in the hot sun after a long recording session exacerbates their demise...

    Motion Detection Issues

With my U1000, it records to several locations on the SD card based on the recording mode. During normal driving it is continuously recording, and saves files to the Cont_Rec folder. Most of my recordings are out here. During normal driving if it detects an impact, such as an accident, it saves...

    Motion Detection Issues

    1) how does relaying info about a Blackvue camera help a user with a Thinkware camera? 2) what good is setting a motion detection zone when you don’t always park in the same location/direction?

Dashcam viewer won't play front & rear at same time

Sorry to barge in on this thread, but I have some PCviewer software questions as well. 1) I have a Mac, and when I go to run the software it complains that it is not digitally signed and the OS does not want to run it for security reasons. I have to manually override this. Can this be fixed...

To buy or not to buy..

    Yes Yes

    Firmware update.

I have a sandisk 256GB card that works fine. I think up to 400GB has been verified by users. There may be a corruption issue with your card, or it may not be a legit Sandisk (depends where you bought it). Try to get the U1000 to format the card through the thinkware app.

Thinkware U1000 vs. Blackvue DR900S-2CH (soon Viofo A129 Pro Duo)

The 4K chip recording generates more heat than 1080P. The Viofo A129Pro was measured at 77 degrees C, the Thinkware was measured to operate at 56 degrees C. I don’t think either has a problem, but one obviously has a larger safety margin.

Thinkware U1000 vs. Blackvue DR900S-2CH (soon Viofo A129 Pro Duo)

The circular polarized filter included with the U1000 improves daytime recordings by reducing reflections, but also reduces light transmittance at night. I believe the U1000 sample footage was recorded with a CPL in place. The DR900S did not have a CPL in place. Perhaps that is why the U1000...

    Firmware update.

I believe that is correct. You can find the manual online I’d you don’t still have yours. I definitely remember it having a section in the manual on updating firmware using the SD card.

    Firmware update.

I updated the firmware through my phone’s hotspot and the Thinkware app. But there are instructions in the manual for updating using an SD card.

Thinkware U1000 vs. Blackvue DR900S-2CH (soon Viofo A129 Pro Duo)

Although I have had one of my cars keyed (~15 yrs ago), I’m fortunate enough to live in an area where I’m not worried about that. I live in a private house, not an apartment complex. I park in my driveway, not the street or a public lot. In the event that some random person would key the car...

Thinkware U1000 vs. Blackvue DR900S-2CH (soon Viofo A129 Pro Duo)

Although we’re off topic for the comparison of two cameras, I’ll comment here on the subject of radar. It seems to me that the radar really benefits a niche use case, that is people who leave their cars for extended periods of time and want ultra energy saving mode. Whether you’re running off...

How to connect the Viofo A129 Duo to a Blackvue B-124X battery ?

This sounds like a lot of home-brew work with the raspberry pi and what it’s doing. Most people who are installing an LTE WiFi router are just looking for a power source. Some dash cams, like my Thinkware U1000 and I think the Blackvue DR900S have advanced parking mode support so if the...
