How to connect to iPhone without Hotspot

Agreed. Absolutely no reason to require the hotspot mode to configure settings, and I should be able to turn its search for a hotspot off. Also, get the blinking LED out of my face!

So does the F800 version of the rear cam require the right angle connector? I sure hope not, because I don’t want to have to run a new cable and Thinkware informed me that I could reuse the rear camera cable from my F750.

Agreed. Very confusing. Bullets conflict and do not represent selection.

It doesn’t look like they offer the rear camera as a separate purchase, just as a bundled option.

    F800 Annoyance Thread

Yep, as you figured out the other app is what is used for previous generation cameras, such as the F750 and F770. Being an owner of a F750, I also didn’t realize that a new app was needed for the F800 until after around an hour of hopelessly getting the app I already had to work. Too bad. That...

Where is it available? I just searched Google for any vendors in the US, as well as the Amazon, Best Buy, and even Thinkware websites.

Sorry, I should have stated that I was referring to the iPhone version of the app.

Make the adjustment, then tap the ‘back’ arrow to produce the “setup changes have been saved” message. Then hold down the power button on the camera for 2 seconds and release. Close the app and restart. When you reconnect the settings will have been saved. THINKWARE released a new version of...

It flashes when it is not tethered to your phone, which is 99% of the time. It goes solid blue when tethered and it recognizes a connection to the Internet via your phone.

It does have an SD card slot, and it comes packaged with a 16GB card. However, to configure the camera’s options you must use your phone in tethered hotspot mode, and this is also the only way to view live video or to download wirelessly without removing the card. The F750/770 did this using a...

I believe that the new requirement for mobile phone personal hotspot connectivity is in preparation for cloud-based uploading and/or configuration of the camera, but I’m curious as to how it will work. The camera does not have a cellular receiver or SIM card of its own, so it will always need to...

Just purchased the F800 to replace my F750. Some observations: As others have noted, Thinkware has moved to an even more complicated mode of connectivity between your phone and the camera for initial setup, configuration, live video monitoring, and downloading of recordings. It now requires...

    F550-F750 Flaws, suggestions and fixes

I'm a Mac user but I agree with graham-beale, the entire reply (especially the Mac comment) was unprofessional and likely sent directly by an engineer who got a little butt hurt seeing a bunch of "complaints." There is no way this should have cleared through customer relations. Was it signed...

It will be interesting to see if you are able to use the whole 128GB. A reply from Thinkware on their Facebook page stated that it would only utilize 64GB of the card.

For what it's worth I've been using a SanDisk "Ultra" micro SDHC card for several weeks with no issues.

    Review of the Thinkware F750-2CH?

The delay is not really very long in practice. By the time that I've put on my safety belt, put the car in reverse, checked the mirrors/backup cam and begun backing up the camera is usually live. Also, the formatting reminder goes away once you've enabled parking mode, and is replaced with...
