0801 shows as charged, but it isn't :(

Hi, I have an 0801 unit. At first it worked fine but then a few months later it won't charge. The battery indicator on the screen always shows full and yet the camera turns off straight away when the power from the hard wired feed is turned off with the ignition. When you turn the ignition back on it always shows the recovery of last file message indicating that the last file was not saved correctly. The red LED never flashes to show that it is being charged, I have measured the battery voltage and its not charged. I have replaced the battery two weeks ago but now its showing the same symptom since the new battery has become discharged. I know there may be a charge management controller IC somewhere on the board and I thought I'd try to identify it and try replacing that. Anyone else experienced this problem ?

How are you powering the camera, permanent 12v or does it switch off after a set time after you switch the car off?

I ran my camera on permanent 12v for a while and that killed the battery.

Looks like your battery is gone to hell.
Replace it with a new one, they are cheap.
