0906 won't turn on, tried with mains adapter

Came to my 0906 one morning to find it won't turn on. Took it out my car, plugged into mains adapter, still nothing.
Took it apart, tested it with multimeter (not really sure what I'm doing), tested a few parts, and power is getting inside the unit.
Any pointers of what to check to see where the issue is?

Since you have the thing dismantle and checking with a DMM, look for any possible blown capacitors.

Do you mean the two big capacitors? They look ok. They don't have the classic bulging tops.

Set the DMM for continuity and check none of the caps are bad. A short would mean a bad cap.
