1080 30p is sharper than 1080 60p?

nklh, its better not to argue with him, he always knows everything the best and cannot admit he's wrong... just ignore him

Someone can figure out how to get true 1080 60p or even sound with 120fps video? :)

I must say, 30fps video is clearly sharper and have better image quality than 60fps. Almost made me not want to try and refocus the camera. Almost doesn't make sense but it's true.

What is this I heard about recording video in 1080 30p gives sharper videos than 1080 60p recordings?

Is it still true with the latest firmware?

I compared video quality of Xiaomi to Iphone. Look from minute 4 - 1080 60FPS in low light is really poor!

What happens with 1080p50 or 1080p48?
Do they come from 1536x1152 like 1080p60 or 2304x1296 like 1080p30?

I'm no expert by any means, but looking at the sensors and the image processor spec sheet, both 1080p 48&50 must come from 1536x1152 60 as the A7LS cannot handle more than 1080p60, ie it cannot use 2304x1296 48,50,60 as this would be over the 1080p60 budget. 1080p60 is about 1.2e8 pixels per second and 1296p48 (required for 1080p48) is 1.4e8 pixels per second.

Now, looking back at the spec sheets, it seems there's another issue which I don't think I've seen anyone mention. The IMX206 does not have a mode close to 1280x720 120 or 848x480 240, rather the closest matches are 1536x576 120 and 1536x384 240. Would I be correct in assuming we have some vertical interpolation going on in order to achieve the outputs? Also, if I'm correct it would seem that there's a consistent 80% resolution interpolation along one axis which is interesting on it's own.

Anyone know if it's possible to output nativity at 1536x1152 60, 1536x576 120, or 1536x384 240, or does the A7LS not allow that?
