Daylight 1920x540 example with the f/1.2 lens mentioned above. No IR- and CPL-filters, numerous firmware tweaks.

2 Novatek 650 dashcams with IMX323 sensors.

I'm almost happy with the results but much better image quality can be obtained with IMX317 for fisheye cam and IMX307 for infrared cam.

nice hints. so novatek chipset is more flexyble and could be mod to wipe away all teh overlaying graphics? ... that would be awesome!
do you know where to obtain the tools to do that job? or papers/manuals to study about?

Define best, what you want from a dashcam may not be someone else's idea of best, price isn't an indicator either unfortunately, some of the most expensive models have their own drawbacks

My current dual cam setup. The wide view cam is a 70mai pro with my custom fw. The b&w cam params are: IMX307, f/1.2 6mm lens (no IR filter), 1/400s, 1080p50, H.265@30Mbps.
