3-D printers to make brackets?

3-d printers are coming down in price & I'm aware that there are companies out there who will print stuff for you.
BUT, how easy would it be to simply turn up with a camera and ask them to create a bracket?
Very few cameras seem to use brackets that allow for the most discrete installation, the camera tends to have a tripod mount on the top & so has to hang inches below a bracket.
I've seen video showing how they take pics of an object & reproduce it with the printer - but what about taking pics of a cam & producing a bracket to fit over the cam?
 
AutoCad, 3D laser scan, etc.
It's not for average Joe and if hire person / company who will do 3D scan + AutoCad, - it's going to cost more than your dash-camera ;)
