422GW plays the start-up "tune" repeatedly, indefinitely

buttons are unresponsive, removing the SD card has no effect, and with the power supply removed, the volume of the repeating start-up tune either (a) gradually decreases until the battery dies, or (b) with it on a power source not in the car, pauses, restarts the tune a couple of times then dies, which is a few minutes. I can't recall whether I have replaced the battery in this one.

All the time there is the blue screen with the "NEXTBASE" logo.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Update - I put a 322GW in its place, which works fine including the (remote) rear camera. So I guess the fault is in the 422GW. Trouble is, I can't get past the blue start up screen to the settings options, to update software/firmware.
