+1 decade, many dashcams
Had me all wound up, so i just ripped out the A810.

So far just 1 thing, reusing the 4G modem / HW kit and rear RC14 camera, well the RC14 camera are just a mess. ( no color horizontal torn B&W like image )
But the supplied RC 14 camera + wire worked 100 % on my computer table, so will have to look into that one of the coming days. ( that probably be tomorrow )

O also after binding the 4G modem, i was not able to use remote surveillance, but i could preview events as i got them in fast and furious using motion detect on high setting.
Fixed that by rebooting the 4G modem on its button.

I did notice like the A810 there is no HDR on / off time settings, so probably on all the time and so dialed for daytime HDR

Been getting on with the new Omni and i have bumped my head on a few things, but often strange things i have not been able to replicate.
On the outside the rubber cover for the SD port keep falling out on my system, but it is in no way a deal breaker for me

Have communicated a few things with the brand and they are of course on the ball with these.

Getting on nicely 🙂

Got some footage in, VERY real world, so dinged up windscreen, and very dirty CUZ my car was is down, one location for repair and the other location for upgrade.
But thru the crud the Omni was still able to capture things.

Also by chance the first two segments recorded yesterday was with low encode 1 channel 60 FPS mode, that ( low encode ) was not the plan but there you go.

Good chance for similar sunny weather the next two days, then its strait back to grey on darker grey Danish winter.

That seems a very wide field of view, or is it just mounted further back than most of your dashcams?

recorded yesterday was with low encode
What was the bitrate?
Seems to be recording the plates, if they are close enough.

It is mounted on the dotted area i always mount on, offset a little to the L from dead center ( about 15 CM )

Low bitrate are 32 mbit 60 FPS
The high compression clips are 45 mbit and 25 FPS

Dunno what this infatuation is 70mai have with 25 FPS, i would for sure prefer 30 FPS even if i live in PAL 25 FPS world.

It appears to see a lot more of your A-pillars than most of your dashcams, it may be a small car, but I don't remember seeing that much A-pillar from any dashcam! Some people like wider views, but narrower tends to be better for reading plates.

That is a decent bitrate for 25fps, did you actually mean "High" compression, high compression normally means low bitrate, low compression gives high bitrate...

Nobody uses PAL any more, that is analogue TV!

70mai are from Shanghai, not South Korea, so they do have 50Hz electricity, not 60Hz, but dashcams don't run on AC power, and computer monitors run at 60Hz.

are you sure only 25 fps?, i think advertised 30 fps front and rear

Might be, if it's in h.265. If they advertised 30fps then that may be h.264 only so technically they're correct in their advertising by omission

I reviewed all of the video clips I captured while performing my power consumption tests. I cannot find any video file recorded at 25 fps.

I will be swapping memory card in the 4K omni today, i think the one there is full.
I was contemplating giving it a quick once over in my window sill, but decided i better get the A510 done first, also the 4K omni is actually the only dashcam in my car at the moment so cant really take it out CUZ then i would not feel good driving.

SRY i totally forgot about this, i took a pic of install over a week ago.

Looks like it is in front of your side mirrors, so must have a wider field of view than most dashcams. Maybe that is good for a 360 spinning camera, the 2K version wasn't really wide enough when looking at the sides, maybe this one will track and follow people as they walk passed the car better?

Looks quite nice with the black and red buttons. Your car has a white ceiling though, so the red and white one would be a better match.

Just added another memory card to the tested models, now counting 7 memory cards tested.

Now testing kingston select plus

The Omni itself is of course merrily chugging along.
I do at times see a flashing yellow ring on the camera, this i think is either GPS loss momentary or maybe 4G loss, i examin the recordings from the places this happen and there is no video loss, so i dont think it is memory card issues that can also be signalled by the yellow ring.
I am not sure if we still use 3G here for phones, or 4G is now the minimum / default network.
When this happen i do see a steady speed in the footage, so it could be GPS satellite loss, i need to investigate this further but it do not happen very often, also even if i can see the entire camera i might still miss it.
But i have not seen any stop / start events in strange places that would indicate a loss of recording.

Yellow LED:
Formatting failed.
4G network disconnected when the dashcam connecting and activating 4G module. ( i think this mean 2 tings either 4G loss during operation, or error during 4G setup )
GPS positioning failed.
TF card storage exemption.

BTW just noticed.
Upon ejecting the memory card, or should i say wanting to, i found out that it is possible to push the card to a side so it is " locked" in the port, barely visible.
But i did manage to " fish " it out using a needle point to " drag " the card back into the slit / port.

Not aware if this is a general problem, the system i have is a very early sample, maybe even pre production sample.

I have decided to remove the rubber flap that cover the memory card slot, it is coming loose all the time anyway, i blame this for being in the way and so no trimmed nails pushing memory card to the side upon pressing it down to eject.

Yesterday upon starting my Omni got stock mid startup pan and so the camera was aimed a little back from where it would be if you said capture Left.
There was no gear grinding or things like that, and the system have not done that again on a few drives after that.
I am going to take a short drive today and then look at footage, my big yellow friend have made sporadic appearances here lately, though it is still too early for Denmark to look its best.

As my big yellow friend in the sky have returned the mood improve here, now i just need my green friends to become green again.
The 4K omni of course gapping plates left and right, but the mount is challenged on a slightly uneven road ( paved with stones ) so this introduce the jello effect.
This road is not teeth rattling uneven, systems with a mount closer to the windscreen have no problems here.

The camera getting stuck during boot pan yesterday, it did indeed but it was recording all the time of course, i will keep my eye out for this moving on.

My camera still record 2 channel footage in 25 FPS, i think it is CUZ i registered it in Denmark that is a 25 FPS PAL country, i will try to change this one of the days CUZ no one want 25 FPS, 30 FPS please.
