Well, seems like a really nifty feature... Defogging the windscreen(s) to always be able to have a clear vue of the surroundings of the car.

the upside is it keeps that area clear, the potential downside is it makes it obvious to anyone that looks that you have a camera there, that could be good or bad depending on the intention of anyone that was looking, same for any camera left running though, it's not a Blackvue issue at all

4W is actually quite a bit. Especially in the winter, I'd be worried about discharge. Unless there is also some kind of battery protection circuit.

I do have a BDP installed, to cut-off at 12.0 in spring/summer and 12.4 in fall/winter.
