Just noticed it missed about last 10 minutes of the journey, didn't resume recording after petrol station stop

I rotated the PL filter a little so it was less effective to see what sort of reflections it picked up off the windscreen and directly of the dash... Unfortunately, I didn't keep the cam straight, must have knocked it a touch so it's slightly crooked and that has annoyed me lol... Must line it up again tomorrow...

Incidentally, I do definitely have vibration issues in my car - even if I turn on the rear window demister, the very action of that working starts the shaking up on my camera - and when I turn it back off again, the shaking reduces. If the engine is off, the video is brilliant, especially on the 4K tv.

That vibration in the video seems normal to me, having the cam bang on centre and low as possible could reduce it a little.

Whilst P's car has a vibration I would expect that to produce outside shake but a fairly stable dash & wipers. As you say all models seem to suffer from very slight vibration. There must be a weak point on the mount somewhere. My guess is the ball and stem. Beef both up maybe. Or, replace the smooth ball and socket with a very fine cut matching diamond pattern so when the ring nut is tightened it's going nowhere.

I used to think my 402, with DOD adhesive mount was rock solid but checking closer that had wiper vibration. My 412 mount seems to give lass shake, maybe the BluTak.

I know I keep on, I won't mention it again, but would some form of image stabilisation really make the footage stand out ?

I can, but not til later, and I'm still planning on messing with it further yet.

The toshiba card is problematic too btw, although it seems to record fine without input, after I did the firmware upgrade, the camera wouldn't accept the card, and it wouldn't format on a windows PC either! May well end up with a sandisk 128 after all!

Hmm to be fair, they look similar to mine really. For example randomly picked a file, and the road signs are not clear even within the central area of the lens. I think this is down to excessive noise which is making things look out of focus. The 4k is lovely, but certainly at night the image quality is not quite spot on. Maybe I'm being picky I don't know.... everyone else seems happy?

I've attached a screengrab from J-Ks video (because I don't have access to my files currently). Is this acceptable quality for night? I love it in the day, but those signs should be clearer shouldn't they?

I was going to post similar. I reran some of my 402 dusk footage and the 402 is considerably worse so there is an improvement.
I did freeze frame an oncoming car in the above ~1649~ file, the second one, and number plates can't be read.

I've got some 612 footage to download tomorrow. That'll give me a better idea.

I only need mine for daylight as Matron won't let me out after dark.

Was going to share some daytime footages but camera froze after a stop I made around 16:10. Got back in the car 20 mins later screen was on but not recording. Recording wouldn’t start when I tapped on record so formatted SD card that didn’t make a difference. Tried powering it off by holding down power button it didn’t respond. Disconnected power that didn’t make a difference either power connected icon was still showing. Reseted everything to factory settings and placed it back on mount then it booted with first time setup instructions. Let’s see how that goes now

Have you got parking mode on @J-K ?
How long was you driving for before the incident?
What firmware are you on?

This of course shouldn't be happening and we'll figure out why it happened but if this event happens again with this or any other model there is a reset button on the bottom to manually shut the unit down.

I had parking mode on yes. Was driving for around 50 mins before that and made 2 short stops before it. Drove for about another 15 mins after it stopped responding.

Grabbed a minute on the way home tonight - just after twenty past six - and the polariser is in place...

One thing I will say is the brightness levels of my 1080 computer monitor shows these files as quite dark - but sent to the 4K TV screen there is a world of difference - though there is a touch of graininess, I don't find that a bad thing considering it is, well, rather dark out there!

The daytime footage I got yesterday isn't really any help. It's only about 30 secs and most of it is stationary or only 20mph on smooth tarmac so not really representative.

I’m on R03.7. Didn’t fully charge it before I started using it so left of charge overnight haven’t had any issues yet so far today.
