@rcg530 here's my own experience. I have a faulty memory card. It used to work fine, but recently I've noticed files with frame drops. I tested it with H2testw and got good results; no errors in writting/reading, and average writing speed was ok.
I had a deep card formatting, then let the cam record continuously for over 24 hours. The issue became worse; every few (1 min) videos have a video with frame drops. Then I tried copying a big file into the card on my computer to observe its write speed, and I saw this performance variation. It's likely that dashcams don't have a big write cache like computers, so at the moment writing speed hits the bottom, frame drops occur.
