I like this firmware setting, it’s almost like parking mode without hardwiring.
How does the camera know to start recording on the next engine start / drive cycle?

My bench tests of this feature shows the 4K Omni powers itself down to a fully off state. After the 4K Omni is powered down, the power draw is initially at 9 mA @ 12.6V. Over the next few minutes the power draw drops to 4 mA @ 12.6V. I've tried a tapping the 4K Omni to see if it would wake up from an impact and it did not [didn't expect it to]. I tried moving the 4K Omni and the mount it was attached to in circular motions to simulate a vehicle movement. The 4K Omni remained powered off. I don't believe driving a vehicle above a certain speed would wake it up. So far, the only thing that made it power up again was pressing the power button on the 4K Omni front camera. I'll run a test in my car in the next couple of days to see if driving over a certain speed would wake it up again. Based on what I've observed in my bench tests, I don't believe it will wake up by driving the vehicle.

My guess would be the automobile cigarette lighter has power dropped to it briefly, when the engine is cranking on a engine start action. That off/on power is sensed by the 4K Omni, which then begins its processes to record.

The car I have the 4K Omni installed in is a 2007 Chevy HHR. The cigarette lighter socket and the center console power outlet are both fed power all of the time directly from the main fuse box in the engine bay. While using the starter to start the engine, the voltage level will be reduced at those two power sockets, but not turn off.



Just yesterday, I replaced that vehicle's starting battery since it was showing signs of getting weak while cranking the engine, plus it was manufactured in late 2020. I have a voltage monitor that I can plug into the CLA port. The voltage level was dropping in the low 9V range while starting the engine. It shouldn't drop below 10V at the minimum while starting the engine. My battery tester also showed the cold cranking amps for that battery were in the 450 range [fully charged] when it's rated for 650 cold cranking amps. With the replacement starting battery installed, the voltage level now only drops to 10.5V when starting the engine and the starter sound more "zippy". 🙂

In my car, I don't believe the voltage level drop will be sufficient for the 70mai CC02 power port adapter to momentarily turn off the USB power to the 4K Omni to cause it to restart, but anything's possible. If the CLA port was wired so that it received power all of them time except when in the ignition switch is in the "start" position, then that might be enough to cause the power outage to the 4K Omni and have it restart. I'll reconfigure the 4K Omni to be powered by the CC02 [unbind the UP05] and set the "Auto Off After Stop" setting to "5 Minutes" so that when I drive that car tomorrow, I'll be able to test this feature.

When I was configuring the 4K Omni in my car to use the "Auto OFF After Stop" feature, I found there was additional text at the bottom of the settings screen that explains that you must power on the dash camera by manually clicking the power button. The Android device that I captured the screenshot I used in my video has a shorter screen resolution than my iPhone 15 Plus. The extra text shows up without scrolling on the iPhone while it was necessary to manually scroll the screen on my Android device to see that same text. I'm still going to test this feature tomorrow to see how it behaves in my car.

Have you tried different sensitivity settings for that feature? I've found "High" and "Ultra-High" are much quicker to detect someone than the lower settings. The front camera is only camera that will be used to detect a suspicious person.

Hello, yes I sat in front of the car and nothing, the head didn't move at all... no matter what I did, I set it to "ultra" and nothing...



And the light , how to make to show normaly.... in A810 work ok... here no..

Take a look at the 70Mai support site. Select FAQ and then the Parking Guardian tab. They offer several ideas, one of which is the wiring to the fuse panel is incorrect.

I tested the "Auto OFF After Stop" feature in my car. As the description text for this feature states, you must click the power button on the 4K Omni front camera to power it on again after the this feature turns off the dash camera. I also found that low speed parking lot driving does not seem to count as valid movement to prevent the "Auto OFF After Stop" feature from starting its countdown timer. Entering a drive-thru line and making short moves forward while in that line don't stop the internal countdown timer for this feature. Driving my car in the parking lot of the shopping mall after exiting the drive-thru line did not abort the internal countdown timer for this feature. I'm not sure what the lower threshold for this feature is before it considers the vehicle in motion, but low speed driving in a parking lot doesn't seem to be fast enough.

As a test, I left it powered off and began driving my car. I wanted to see if the movement of the car would cause the 4K Omni to power up. I exited the parking lot and drove down a city street at 25 MPH. As expected, the 4K Omni did not power up in that situation. Since the user must manually power on the dash camera each time, IMO the "Auto OFF After Stop" feature is not a user friendly feature. If your vehicle's power port remains powered while parked, I would not recommend the "Auto OFF After Stop" feature as your primary way of powering the dash camera. I would suggest using one the UP03/UP04/UP05 hardwire kits as a better alternative.

Hello again , after testing fuse box , now camera work great. I put wrong wire yellow to acc , but red need , and yellow to after put key to start engine

This is not a big problem, but I found an issue with the video and audio being out of sync when a motion detection video is created by the 4K Omni.

I updated my 70mai phone apps and I found that the 4K Omni has firmware v1.3.99ww available for it. I installed that version of firmware in the 4K Omni in my car. I drove to town and parked my vehicle. There were three suspicious persons events while my car was parked. The last one is showing as I approached my car along with the opening and closing of the driver side front door. The audio appears to be at least 1 second out of sync with the video actions. The thing I’m using to determine the video and audio are out of sync is when I close the driver side front door. The watermark timestamp shows 10:04:50 when you hear the noise the door closing, but the video shows the door is still open for at least one additional second.

This issue appears to be present with the older v1.2.96ww firmware as well. The video file I have from 4/8/2025 contains the same event of closing the front driver side door. The audio is out of sync by the same amount with the older firmware as well.

I’ve tested this issue using the Windows Media Player, MPC-BE for Windows, and VLC for Windows. All three video players have the video and audio out of sync in the same manner.

I've sent an email to 70mai reporting the issue.

I found it also is out of sync in normal driving.
Do capture inside and once it is pointing in your direction
talk and you will see the video is out of sync.

I've been testing a non-public firmware update for the 4K Omni that does fix the parking mode audio/video sync issue. The normal mode recording videos still have about an 8 frame delay in the audio. I've submitted the additional info that 70mai requested to see if the normal mode recording audio problem can be fixed as well.

One of my YouTube channel viewers had asked about the 70mai Cloud usage limits. I tried to find a PDF document or a FAQ page with that info, but none are available. 70mai stated they will create this documentation very soon.

Here are the 70mai Cloud Usage Limits I received from 70mai:

1. There is no hard limit on the number of video uploads. However, the cloud will store up to 15 event videos at any given time. Once that limit is reached, the oldest videos will be overwritten in a rolling fashion.
2. For 4G Live View, users can view remotely for up to 30 minutes per day.

Hello, are there any news about 70mai planning on letting the X800 connect to an in-car Wi-Fi network, like BlackVue does, or at least like Viofo with their Wi-Fi station mode?
Or, at least give hotspot functionality to the 4G module, like Vantrue did?
So that we don't have to pay an extra 4G subscription just for the 70mai 4G module.
