+1 decade, many dashcams
Just picked up this little gem at the post office.
I can not recall much of what i have read about it, but it of course have the full blown IMX 678 in the front with HDR support, in the rear sit a IMX 662 which a mere 1080p sensor is still good enough for EU plates.

But on top of that in general not much to say right now, the form factor is the well known 70 mai one which i have no qualms with.
Not sure what SOC reside in here, but i recon it is not a top of the line one for what i assume will be a moderately priced 4K system.

@DashCamMan please make A810S sub forum and move this,,,,,, thank you

I have too received this - a generous move by 70mai. The 4K is top of the range - will be doing something special with mine (thanks Oliver).

Paul.

I have found the A810S for sale and in store here in Denmark, the price here is about 218 USD
Seem to be a good step up from the old A810.

It has the NT98529-E chipset.
Same as the M800 and A800SE.
But unlike the A800SE, the A810S does support the 4G module.

The A810S 2ch is currently on sale on AliExpress for a price of 136€.
Can't complain at all with that price.

Ah nice. Glad to hear you're getting yours! I had a chance to preview the A810S at SEMA. Here's some more info about it, starting at 1:35:

ATM i have just thrown the system in my living room window to gauge the low light performance in general thru a crud filled window.

I don't think the HDR extend to the rear camera ?

It should have HDR on both channels.
On one side of the box, it says "HDR Dual Channel Recording".
Or take a look at the video from Vortex at the 70mai booth at the Sema. It also says dual channel HDR there.

Okay.
Must be the resolution / FOV that mess with me, but to me the rear camera footage seem a little darker.
My box just say 4K/30 FPS with HDR and dual starvis 2 IMX 678 and 622
Then again just filmed a little in my dark living room with just my 32" monitor for light source and a 9 W LED table light on the computer table pretty much shining most of its light behind the monitor.

BTW in a fit of makers insanity i have ordered some materials to make myself a new dashmat, this time getting Cloth that can handle UV light and not fade, and adding to that as i am tried of things flapping in summer when i have open windows a huge piece of 3 mm rubber to put on the back side of the cloth to hold it down.

Should arrive in a few days.

EDIT: On the side with the short product descriptions in a few languages,,,,, yes it do say HDR dual channel recording,,,,,,, a bit conflicting i think

A810S memory card compatibility list.

Samsung EVO Plus U3 / white - NOT OK, after a few hours of recording the system ask to format card.
Kingston Canvas Go plus / black blue ( GEN 3 ) - OK ( simulated 22 hour long drive )
Sandisk extreme plus / gold red - OK ( simulated 50 hour long drive )
PNY PRO Elite - grey black - OK ( simulated drive to Rome Italy and back to Randers in Denmark in one go )
Samsung PRO ultimate. Black - OK ( more simulated running a good 24 hours so with 256Gb the card filled up a couple of times )
Adata high endurance. - black red - NOT OK, after a few hours of recording the system ask to format card.
Adata Premier pro. black green - NOT OK, again the system ask for the card to be formatted after a while.
Trancend Ultra performance - black silver - NOT OK, ask for a format of memory card after just a couple of hours run time.
Lexar professional. grey - Black - OK ( simulated drive, lasting 3 days of constant " driving " )
PNY XLR8. white red - OK ( simulated drive )
Kingston canvas select plus. Black - OK ( GEN 2 ) ( simulated drive lasting a couple of days )
Samsung PRO Plus U3 - blue - NOT OK ( asked for memory card format a hour or so after i started recording )
Silicon power Inspire - Yellow Black - OK ( simulated +24 H drive in window sill )

EDIT: new firmware on 09-01-2025 bringing memory card improvements, so retesting the cards that failed round #1.

Trancend Ultra performance - black silver - now OK, 24 hour simulated drive ( 256 GB memory card only hold about 12 hours of footage )
Adata Premier pro. black green - now OK, 24 hour simulated drive.
Adata high endurance. - black red - now OK, +24 hours simulated drive.
Samsung PRO Plus U3 - blue - now OK, +48 hour simulated drive.

Okay found some footage on the failed / not working memory card and whipped up a fast video.
Nothing big, but clearly a big difference in the footage from front / rear cameras, just focusing on the exposure.

I'm about to fit the A810S 70mai sent me.
I'm waiting on a cpl filter as it is warming up here. Tomorrow is expected to be 32c

I like that they have moved from batteries to capacitors in their range.

I'm also waiting for my car to dry out. The sun roof leaked and drenched the carpets.
It a big job pulling the interior out so i can get the carpet out. Now i have to remember how to put it all back together without left over screws. lol

Okay i have found something fishy.
I wanted to grab 2 files ( F/R pair ) to make a daytime video of the night time above.

So i scrolled down thru front camera footage and grabbed one created 11-12-2025 15:00, but the problem is there is no corresponding rear file created 11-12-15:00 there seen to be a time skew.
Looking at footage from the front footage the 2 pedestrians meet at the time 14:58:08 and this is 30 seconds into the front camera file.
But the same for the rear camera footage is 1 minute 17 seconds into the rear file.

File structure with the 2 used files highlighted.

File naming.webp

Screen shot from the 1 videos, framed time stamp - file name and playtime in the file + the meeting of 2 persons for reference.

Front camera.webp

rear.webp

The file names do seem to be same F/R but there is the skew in the time and so the creation names are different, i have always gone by creation time when i look at footage

Other than that the system have recorded for 22 or so hours strait using a Kingston Canvas Go plus, this equate to a drive from where i live in Denmark to Rome in Italy, so a nice long drive simulated in my window sill.

Doing static testing in my window sill using the PNY PRO Elite, the system made a event ( G-sensor i think ) yesterday, probably due to the rickety setup i have there, just figure i say as it have not happened with any of the other cards i have tested so far.

I think this system will remain doing static testing for a while, i have gotten materials to make myself a new dashmat, but i am extremely in the hole ATM so not getting much of anything done.
But once i have cut the fabric and underlying rubber up and glued it together so it is less "flappy" in summer when i have the windows open, well then i might also install this new system in the car and so get 2 birds with 1 stone.

The A810S has a neat trick screen saver is the speed as a choice option. The T800 doesn't have that feature.
I'm sure a firmware update could fix that.

My car doesn't have a digital speedo so I'm enjoying see this while driving.

Yes i miss that in T800, used that on the original A800 when i ran that.
I too prefer going by digital speed and not the 8 - 9 KM/h slower than actual analog speedo of the car.

Agree.
Notice it is a little slow finding the speed when it first starts. Haven't measured it but it could be as long as 1 minute.

GPS fix.

Omni had it added in firmware update so not sure why T800 didn't get the update to keep feature parity

I am a bit surprised by the last two memory cards the A810S rejected after a while, as i recall these two models have worked on all other 70mai systems i have tried.

And seeing as it is now several cards i don't think it is a case of cards in my test suite on the way out, though that is of course always a possibility.

On to the next one ( memory card )

What are the card brands type etc.
If I have them i can try to replicate your conclusion.
