Hey

So i was looking at the 412 but looking at reviews etc (and with the rear camera option), would make more sense to go for the 512. Here are my questions:

1. Firstly, is it worth to get the 512 as opposed to the 412. What are peoples opinions?
2. What SD card comes recommended?
3. I will hard wire at same stage but for now will use the 12V cigarette port. In this case, how would the "Parking Mode" work. As the unit would not be switched on
4. Anyone had any issues with the mount? Anything to be wary off?
5. Would a FW upgrade be required right away? Not sure what FW the unit would be on. And if one is required - any links etc?
6. How much does the rear camera costs and from where?
7. Anything else i should bear in mind?

I get my new car tomorrow, hence this urgent questions (sorry). I'll buy from Amazon as a prime customer, although i guess Halfords do price match

Thanks in advance

Yousuf

Hello @Yousuf

1) I will leave this as customers with them will be able to give you their opinion. The specification differences are: better sensor, polarising filter, announcements, Time Lapse and firmware updates through Replay 3.
2) I have attached a link for a compatible SD card to this email, the card shown is the identical card that we use when testing our cameras. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/B010Q57T023) The parking mode feature will use the internal battery, this will hold 30 minutes of charge when fully charge. That is enough for 15 separate impacts.
4) I'd recommend using the sticky mount on either of these two, its generally better.
5) They can be downloaded on our website free for all models, you can check your version in the system info page in the second menu: https://www.nextbase.co.uk/help-and-support/in-car-cameras-series/
6) £49.99 in Halfords in the next 3 weeks.
7) Not that I can think of.

Any other questions, please ask.

Thanks for this Tiffany. Assuming 128GB for the same brand can be used?

How should we format?

Yes that will hold around 8 hours' worth of footage.

Format in exFAT on the computer (if >32Gb, use FAT32 if <32Gb) or just use the camera to format the card before use.
