Vantrue E360 Ace Review – A Unique 360° Dash Cam with Some Considerations
Overview
Vantrue asked if I would like to review this dashcam last year but due to various things it arrived in the New Year.I have played around with it a fair bit to become familiar with the twin personality it has.
The Vantrue E360 Ace is a ground-breaking 5.2K dual-lens 360° dash cam that offers full panoramic coverage,
setting it apart from traditional front-and-rear dash cams. Equipped with Sony IMX675 STARVIS 2 sensors,
infrared night vision, and a detachable design, it doubles as a portable action camera.
While the E360 Ace brings impressive functionality and innovation,
there are a few design aspects to consider, such as mounting flexibility and cable placement.
However, for those who want full vehicle coverage and a multi-use camera, these trade-offs may be worth it.
What Makes the E360 Ace Stand Out?
✔ True 360° coverage – Dual 210° lenses eliminate blind spots, providing complete protection—great for ride-share drivers and security-conscious users.✔ 5.2K high-resolution video – Sony STARVIS 2 sensors deliver excellent clarity in both day and night conditions, with infrared LEDs for clear cabin recording.
✔ Detachable design – Unlike most dash cams, the E360 Ace can be removed from its mount and used as a handheld camera, making it ideal for content creators or recording incidents outside the car.
✔ Standard 1/4" thread mounting – The camera is compatible with tripods, mono-pods, gimbals, and other camera accessories, adding versatility beyond dash cam use.

Considerations Before Buying
The E360 Ace is well-designed, but like any unique product, some aspects may require adjustments for the best experience.
➡ Number Plate reads – If you need to read number plates then this may not be suitable for you. Because of the wide 210 degree FOV it reduces its ability to capture number plates. However because of the wide FOV it has a much better chance of capturing what is or has happened around the car.
➡ Mounting flexibility is limited – The camera has minimal tilt adjustment when mounted to a steeply raked windshield, as seen in a Toyota Camry sedan, where it’s nearly at maximum downward tilt to keep the road properly framed.
➡ Camera-to-mount connection – Unlike some dash cams where the mount locks everything in place, the E360 Ace detaches from the mount itself, which may result in separation during a hard impact.
➡ Rear camera cable placement – The rear camera connects to the dash cam instead of the mount, meaning the cable routes directly upward toward the roof lining. This requires careful positioning to ensure it doesn’t interfere with the camera’s ideal placement on the windshield. However, the use of a USB-C connection is a welcome choice for durability and future-proofing.
➡ All cables connecting to the mount would be ideal – A future version could benefit from moving all power and rear camera connections
to the mount, improving cable management and reducing strain on the main unit.
➡ Menu navigation takes time to learn – The touchscreen interface is packed with options,
which is great for customization but can feel overwhelming at first. Once familiar, it becomes second nature.
Final Thoughts – Is the Vantrue E360 Ace Worth It?
The E360 Ace is a highly innovative dash cam, combining 360° protection, high-quality video,and versatile mounting options in a single package. While it has some mounting and cable design trade-offs,
they don’t overshadow its unique capabilities.
If you’re looking for a full-coverage, high-tech dash cam with action cam capabilities,
the E360 Ace is a solid choice. With minor adjustments during installation,
it provides a novel approach to recording solutions available today.
