A118C - wont turn on

Hi All,

I just bought an A118C, and it was working fine, however I made the mistake of trying to power it from my fuse box instead of the car lighter adapter... I snipped off the adapter, and connected the bare wires to one of the fuses (which had 12V on ignition) and grounded the other wire.

when I finished installing the dashcam did not power on anymore. by the time I realized the adapter outputed 5V, it was too late. I believe this could have caused the issue.

the question: what now? does anyone know if this is a permanent damage, or is there a simple fix?
i was thinking tearing it down and maybe find a faulty voltage regulator, which could be easily repaired, but I thought I ask here first

Probably, depending on how many components may have been fried.

Depends on your level of expertise and access to replacement parts - and what actual damage occurred. If you have to pay someone it's most likely not economically viable, just replacing the camera would be less hassle and expense.
