A119 v3 bricked, help needed

Hi there.

My V3 is my second camera and has been working fine for some months now.
But suddently the camera is not working right.
All i can see is image, no menus, buttons do not respond, tried to flash firmware but it wont load either.
I've searched for a bootloader but haven't found one.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Have you tried a hard reset? IIRC there is a reset button on the side where you can insert a paper clip or similar into a hole to do this. Might be a letter "R" beside the hole. Press it in till you feel a click as it bottoms out, hold it there for 15 seconds, release it and try again.

I just noticed your edited post and I'm not clear on what you did with the ceiling light, but if you applied 12V to the cam at any time it's dead and can't be revived.

I missed that 12v bit, sidn't sink in.
 
Reedited; i've deleted it to avoid confusion. It was wired to 12v with the 5v adapter. I think the lights rail have not enough power to run the camera.

Anyway it's hard bricked

The camera seems to work, shows image, just no menus or whatsoever...
 
Did you try the Reset .... on the SDCard side, down at the slender bit.
 
Then likely it's truly bricked :( But before tossing it out contact Viofo through the support button on his factory website LINK HERE. He may be able to help somehow; it's worth a try.

Well, the camera has less than 6 months, should be under warranty.
 
Viofo is good with this. Maybe not the fastest but at least it will be taken care of for you and that isn't found in many other cam manufacturers.
