VIOFO A119S Modified Firmware MODs Archive

BUG Found and confirmed by @lukasz.pl + @borik + @BCHobbyist
All Modified Firmware with Audio22 create a video timing issue when TS video format is enabled and MIC button is pressed.
Due to this discovery all STABLE and some popular BETA MODs will be replaced with default Audio.
MP4 video format is unaffected, and fully supports Audio22 modification.
Recommend downloading fresh copies of all Oct.6-8 recent STABLE MODs for A119 + A119Pro + A129Duo + A119S

It's not on the list, but I went back to
FWA119S_MOD-6Nh_v4.02+26Mbps+Sharp445872+Edge148+DCTEAM
and I find it most suitable for me with Sharp72.
 
I don't find Mod Nm with default audio!

This is expected, as we discussed, your slightly out of focus Lens benefits from extreme over-sharpened firmware such as official VIOFO FW, which could be the reason they created it, to compensate for poor center focus Lenses.
All these MODs will remain available for End Users to mix an match for their specific Lens and preference, better to have more options than zero.

Edge Detection uses an algorithm to identify object outlines then apply minor sharpness to the outline without affecting other areas for improved object definition.

Do you have an example of bad vs good? Does this have any effect on haloing if sharpness is raised too much?

example of BAD = official VIOFO firmware from any dash cam they make. (except maybe A129 its the best)
example of GOOD = any MOD from last 60 days.
Download all my MODs and create test footage yourself to compare.
over-sharpened video + additional edge detection = more halo
 
You took out the audio changes out from the changelog? Wondering if you really saw much of a difference? The file size for 22000 Hz and 32000 Hz seems to have no effect on the filesize, so would it be better to just maintain a higher freq? im no expert but would higher freq help sync video to sound better?

Suggest you read 11 posts back, fully explained why Audio22 was removed. Always helps to review previous posts.

Wow, that is a brave Politia, to stand in the middle of the road as A119S drives by using 6Nm Sharp63! Your Lens works well with that level of sharpness, the colors look good even with extreme saturation. Very interesting cobblestone street, buildings and park, thanks for sharing the footage. I have a strange feeling there will be more than one STABLE A119S version posted tomorrow, more votes are needed.
 
To all DCTeam members sharing video clips using Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive, MediaFire, YouTube... I'd like to thank you for the time and effort and realize these 150-600MB files fill your online accounts. Without these raw video files to compare all modifications and adjustments would take much longer. I've downloaded and saved all shared videos so you can now delete all except the most recent from all your online accounts to free space.
May build a 24hour dedicated 4TB FTP Server for DCTeam private use.

Ah sorry i missed that. I do try to read the changelogs on the first post and didn't read about the discovery there. I can't frequent this forum as much as I like to catch up on every single post. It will only get harder as this thread grows. Sign that you're doing a great job.

Created new A119S - STABLE versions 6Vf , 4Vf , 2Vf with increased Sharpness levels and default Hue & Saturation for improved low light detail recommended and verified by @tedmault. All future Hue + Saturation versions will reside in Beta folder.
Also included @BC Rural 's suggestion for customized Microphone-Off/Mute icon 42504 to improve visibility when pressing the MIC button. See post #1 of thread for details and ChangeLog.

Just installed it and drove a little.
It's a perfect sharpness range, 72 a bit (but not ugly) oversharped , 60 is IMHO a perfect sharp, 50 I have not tried yet :)
The muted mic icon looks better than the original.
Good stable version.
