A129 Plus Duo - low bitrate vs time lapse

Since we can't use the buffered parking mode for this model
(even though it was advertised that we could when I bought it)

Which version in parking mode uses less battery and/or takes up less space on the memory card?

low bitrate ?
or
time lapse @ 5-sec intervals

What are the pro's vs con's of either?

Low bitrate are my preferred parking mode, with G - sensor in the back hand to lock any actual events.
time lapse have no audio

Have not compared but think data usage is the same, same go for power usage.
