VIOFO A139 PRO 2 CHANNEL Firmware version V1.1 06 29 . Rear cam not recording
Long time lurker on DCT and fan of VIOFO cams, but first time posting. Had camera since March 8th 2024 so still in warranty. Reliable until now but recently discovered rear cam was not recording despite "2 channel starting" voice message and rear video appearing in live view on APP. Cam is hardwired with HK3-C but not used for parking mode. VIOFO 256GB SD CARD formatted regularly with only 6000 miles driven.
Tried the usual things before opening a ticket : Original power cable in 12v socket ; viewed SD card on PC ; rear cable in interior socket. No change, so opened a ticket on 5th February. Dealt with by Josie Zhang who I passed the above info. onto.
Support requested screenshots of files on phone (presumably to show no rear files) ,full format of SD CARD to FAT32 ; picture of the SD CARD which I duly carried out and supplied. Was then sent rear cam replacement on 10th, but only just received and tried with no change. Would this suggest problem is with main cam ? I was hoping the experts amongst you could throw some light or someone's failure symptoms would tally with mine to persuade VIOFO support that this was the case. Something else I did notice on APP was that live view of rear cam with front as an inset did not appear on alternative screen views which I also mentioned to support.
I would appreciate any help in this 'fallow 'period of Chinese New Year till 24th FEB. Had to fit my old A129PRO to rear screen in the meantime so it's been a nuisance. Tailgating seems to be on the rise at the moment. Thanks

UPDATE ; After I contacted VIOFO again with photos of my half finished installation they apologised again and are now sending me a new rear cable, so another 8 day wait I suppose. Turning into a bit of a saga. It wouldn't be such a problem if my newish vehicle had more fuse tap options for ignition live like the old one. Then I would just buy a new 2-channel model for the extra features and failsafe redundancy, fit that and use the A139P as single channel . Only way I can do that is with the new OBD cable but not yet convinced it would work with my vehicle and it would add more expense.

Welcome to the club.
What happens if you connect the REAR camera to the INTERIOR port?
If the REAR camera works on the INTERIOR port, maybe the REAR port, or the main unit is kaput.

I heard rumors of an upgraded all-new A139 PRO last year.
I sure hope it uses MCX Coax connectors like on the current A329S, NOT the old MMCX, (MMCX is much smaller).

The entire time I tested A139 PRO in my car, (over a year) if I just looked at the connectors wrong it would drop channels, (IR Interior & Rear).
I absolutely dislike the “smaller” MMCX connectors.

If this doesn’t get figured out, and the camera is still under warranty, I would ask for a credit of what you paid for for the all-new upgraded A139 PRO.
Worse they can say is no.
When does the all-new upgraded A139 PRO come out?
Who knows?
-Chuck

Thanks for the reply Chuck, appreciated. Yes I tried the interior port with the same result. From the forum and on purchase nearly 2 years ago I discovered those connectors were sub-par,
so have always avoided disconnection wherever possible. No reassuring ( audible ) click !

Yes, heard that rumour about the upgrade - your suggestion would certainly be worth a shot if all else fails .
I do like the form factor of of the A139P and it suits the favoured mounting position in my vehicle - so here's hoping.

UPDATE: Finally got round to this update in case it will help anybody. VIOFO sent me a new rear cam to try , but to no avail , as I expected, to be honest.
However , after suggesting a warranty replacement ( thanks Chuck ) VIOFO asked for return of main unit for replacement with a new one.
A long wait to resolve but ,mercifully, this solved the problem and worked with existing cable and rear cam saving a new install , so all good VIOFO.
As a slight aside , mentioned in first post ,still puzzled that inset view of front cam in main rear cam view still does not appear in live view in app, but does appear played on PC ? Oh well.
Since then , purchased OP100 power cable thinking it would switch on and off with ignition but I don't think it does that without remaining on for minimum 3 hours or 12 volt cut off ?
Anyway that's for another thread I suppose.

Had my front unit die recently, too. Lasted around 2 years. Rear camera dead as well. Viofo sent out new front unit and testing it out now. Purchased an A329T (in mail) so figured I'm not going to bother trying to get replacement rear unit. I'll just install the A329T instead for rear.

I've had a few A139 Pros they tend to last about 2 years before dying give or take.

My dash cam has been working for over three years now. But I glued a heatsink to the casing.

Hmm. Well stock, without messing with internals, I've had 3 A139 Pros over time and each lasted about 2 years of very regular and constant use.
