A229 Pro glitch failed to record full accident impact footage

.
.
The interior camera footage timestamp at the time of the impact was 09:07:16. The interior camera footage ends at 09:07:26. The audio track from the interior footage includes the "beeping" from a dash camera (assuming it's the A229 Pro) and audio from OnStar noting a crash had been detected. The front camera audio did not include any of the beeping and post beeping audio even though the timestamp value for the front footage was well after the end of the interior footage.

Interior timestamp at the time of the impact event

It appears the A229 Pro detected the impact event and it attempted to handle the impact event [it should place the video files in the RO directory], but it did not successfully maintain writing the video stream and all of the audio stream to the front camera video file. The interior video file(s) appear to have all of their video and audio content intact.

Firmware. These type of events are often a buffering, file stream, and resource issue. With a 2 channel or 3 channel setup, there is a lot of file stream demands on the cpu and memory devices. Add in the sudden 'Panic' mode for RO to happen and sometimes dookie hits the fan. Include the impact energy on the camera and there is the possibility of the MicroSDXC card having a temporary read-write or sanity issue.

Sometimes, crap happens.

Can VIOFO fix this? Yes of course they can but not reliably with a MicroSDXC card. Going to need bigger, faster storage memory with a bigger faster cpu that can write bigger and faster to that memory. And before that storage memory, they will need a larger cache of memory. The days of using minimal cache memory is coming to an end, simply because the customer is demanding additional 'services' and reliability.

IMO, I think he is totally justified in his concern that his wife got into a crash and his dashcam didn't properly catch it. That's a realworld example of something very important.

As someone who does do reviews and recommendations, personally I feel a certain sense of responsibility to give people good quality information. Did the dashcam fail due to memory card issues? G-sensor? Power cable? Firmware? Don't know yet, but it's worth investigating.

In fact if influencers try and sweep stuff like this under the rug, that's usually where they get accused of being biased paid shills. While you don't wanna have a knee-jerk reaction just off of initial information, I do think it's worth investigating further. Feel free to disagree though.

I give precious little credence to influencer's as they always have an agenda. SafeDriveSolutions is the exception as he is an installer, a retailer, and his YT videos get to the point without all the oral diarrhea that most infuencer's add.

LifeHackster has a valid complaint, it is his approach to this situation that I find disagreeable.

influencer
Why do you keep referring to him as an influencer?
LifeHackster is a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and specialist in home security cameras.
An influencer features all product types like QVC, or Home Shopping Network.
Or they do lifestyle vlogging like “Van Life” or “RV Life”.

I want to be a influencer, vlogging from the APC i drive around the Danish ghettoes.
Even if it do appear from photos that some people there do have RPG 7,,,,, then Valhalla here i come.

And i will praise everything i review from electric toothbrushes to female hygiene products.

My A139 Pro has always been pretty flaky but at least the image quality is good.

I don't know that I ever did previously refer to him as a influencer. But, based on your post, I did take a look at his YT 'about me' and no where does he refer to himself as a SME. His web site refers to him as a 'reviewer' and gives a history. His TOS has him not responsible for any advice, links, opinion, etc. as I understood it. His website also lists him as an Amazon Affiliate. Being a reviewer of various products and having an opinion does not necessarily make one a SME. He lists no educational or technical training.

Looks like an influencer to me. Not that I care, he has good information on home cameras, something I have a new interest in so no doubt, I will view some of his videos and possibly subscriber to his channel.

The video data might be on the card if viewed raw, I wonder if any attempts have been made.

Is it normal to have the logo in the top left on the A229 Pro? I thought it was only older VIOFOs that did this.

I asked a simple question and you provided three reasons which a regular user might not change, know or regularly do.
Read between the lines.
Go fish.
I want to be a influencer
Me too.
Everyday I get emails from Amazon sellers asking me to make videos about their products, and upload them to my YouTube Channel.
They promise the highest initial payment, commissions, biggest discounts for my audience, and a steady stream of free products.
Every product imaginable from energy drinks to online video games.
The craziest was video editing software. LMAO!
I would make $10K "extra" income in my free time.
AKEEYO offered me $625 just to test their night vision dash cam, and post results on DCT.
But, I don't want any money because that will be the end of my enjoyment I get from this fun time hobby, and become actual work.

Correct.
That was my first thought when he said VLC player.
I've never used any kind of video player, or editing software for my dash cam videos.
I just download to my iPhone, and if I need to glue two clips together with iMovie.
Or I insert the SD card n my Chromebook, and push play.
My A139 Pro has always been pretty flaky but at least the image quality is good.
Has it ever left you high, and dry without evidence?

Not sure if he is an expert either. If he was he would call out eufy an other companies with their homebase for using wpa wifi security which is easily hackable and a way into someones network.
