@VIOFO-Support you're advising an A329 user against using the HK6 hardwire kit since the BP100 will transmit the charge level percentage to the dash camera via Bluetooth. The misunderstanding seems to be that the user has an A329 [the older model] not the newer A329S series. If VIOFO adds [or has already added in an unreleased firmware version] the VIOFO battery pack charge percentage feature to the older A329 model firmware, then your advice is correct.

I just upgraded my older A329 unit with the latest v2.0_260812 firmware. The "Stamp" setting only includes a "Vehicle Voltage Value" option with no option for the "Battery Pack Capacity".

I just checked an A329S unit with its latest v2.2_260815 firmware installed. The "Stamp" setting includes the "Vehicle Voltage Value" AND the "Battery Pack Capacity" option.

If the user's objective is to present the voltage value in the A329 status line or use it in configuring the A329 hybrid parking mode "Vehicle Battery Protection" feature, the only option [for now] is using the HK6.

If the A329 firmware is updated to include support for the VIOFO battery pack Bluetooth transmission of the battery pack charge capacity, then the user can use the dash camera power cable included with the BP100 instead of using the HK6.
What I said was that the Battery APP could show battery level, not mean that the A329 could show battery level.
The A329 does not support hybrid parking mode even with the HK6 due to the hardware difference. In a simple word, it is not HK6 that support hybrid parking mode, but the camera's hardware determines this.

While the APP can certainly display the battery charge percentage level, this customer's inquiry was how to get their A329 to work with the BP100.

You're correct, the older A329 does not support hybrid parking mode. In my reply, I overstated the capabilities of the older A329. The A329 still does have the "Vehicle Battery Protection" feature which can be used to turn off the A329 when a "Cut-off Time" or the "Cut-off Voltage" [provided by the HK6] has been reached. The newer A329S series can use the "Vehicle Battery Protection" feature to also transition parking modes when it is configured for hybrid parking mode. It would be nice for A329 owners to have the A329 support the battery percentage value as well in its "Vehicle Battery Protection" feature and showing it as a "Stamp" value.

This customer can use the power cable supplied with the BP100 to power the A329 and it will use the full stored capacity of the BP100 and then simply turn off when the BP100 power output is turned off when the BP100 is fully discharged. It could potentially be helpful to allow the A329 to display the battery percentage charge level as well like the A329S series/A119M Pro models can.

The BP100 battery pack is a very good offering from VIOFO for a dash camera battery pack. The BP100 provided power cable can be used to power the A329 allowing to use the fully storage capacity of the BP100 for parking mode. The only thing "missing" is the ability to display the battery pack charge percentage as one of the "Stamp" [status line] options or using the battery pack charge percentage level to turn off the A329 in parking mode. Since the A329 will safely power down [using its supercapacitor] when the power is turned off by the BP100 when the BP100 stored charge level is fully depleted, you can safely use the A329 with the BP100 for parking mode operations.

I don't know the "board level" changes between the A329 and the A329S, but there are improvements present in the A329S that allow VIOFO to implement low power impact detection parking mode along with the hybrid parking mode feature. My suggestion would be to submit a VIOFO support ticket asking for the addition of the VIOFO battery pack charge percentage to the A329 "Stamp" and "Vehicle Battery Protection" features.

I'm sorry
I don’t think you owe anyone an apology.
You just want the best “top of the line” dashcam system, and you don’t want it to be discontinued within 1 year.
Nobody can fault you for that.
VIOFO made a post on REDDIT about a new 4CH model.
You may want to hold off buying A329S until new model is released, so you’re not in the same situation again.

Is the RC400 rear camera model I have compatible with the A329S main power supply?
Q: Is RC400 Rear Camera from A329 2CH (2024) compatible with A329S 3CH (2025)?
A: Yes. RWC Waterproof Rear Camera is also compatible.
I tested it here;

That way, I can have the third channel for an interior camera or even switch to a telephoto camera, which, they say, can even be hot-swapped, allowing you to alternate between the interior and telephoto cameras as needed.
Yes, this is possible.
However, MCX Coax Cable connectors are not designed to be plugged, and unplugged repeatably.
Repeated use may cause damage to connector, or camera main unit.

Yes, this is possible.

So, continuing with the topic of a possible purchase within the A329 series, would the A329S model be the most recommended at the moment?
Everything you're saying is correct.
However, I disagree with unplugging, and re-connecting Telephoto, and Interior Cameras.
That may eventually damage the cable connector, and or remote camera.
For cost effectiveness I would get A329TC 3CH (Telephoto + Indoor IR).
And I would use your original A329 (2024) on rear window as a “rear camera”.

Isn't there a cable that can be used as a bridge between the camera and the main power supply to prevent damage to the main camera and power supply connections?

Like one piece of cable with a male connector and another piece with a female connector, so I can connect and disconnect between those two cables without touching the main connectors?
I don't understand what you mean by this.
I'm going to need some photos, or videos to understand.

Ohhhh.....

No habia barajado esa posibilidad ..

I don't understand what you mean by this.
I'm going to need some photos, or videos to understand.

Isn't there a cable, like a simple plug-and-play connection, a specially modified one or something... that connects and disconnects between two parts of the cable instead of from the ends to the source?
A cable divided into two parts... connecting and disconnecting those two parts from each other, thus avoiding removing and replacing it from its ends and damaging the connectors of the dashcam or camera.
I’m not aware of such cable.

Another reason this won’t work;
If you disconnect Telephoto, and connect IR Interior you will also have to change the firmware from A329T to A329S, and back again to A329T.
This will be prohibitive every time to want to swap Telephoto with IR Interior.

If you get A329TC 3CH you will just leave Telephoto, and IR Interior connected "permanently".

I read on Reddit that the A329S model, without needing to change the firmware to the T model, can hot-swap the IR indoor camera for a telephoto lens.
According to one user, they did it this way and had no compatibility issues with the two cameras being hot-swapped.
Yes, you can “hot-swap” remote cameras.
However you will not have proper function, or control over Interior Camera’s IR LED emitters, (this is necessary for night time operation).
If you have A329T firmware in camera, you will not be able to control IR LED settings in camera, or with smartphone APP.
Only firmware for A329TC, and A329S have proper settings / controls of IR LED emitters on Interior camera.
If you want Rear, Interior, and Telephoto you need a 4CH dash cam.
But you said, you don’t want T340.
So that’s why I said you may want A329TC 3CH (tele + interior), and use your original A329 (2024) in 1CH configuration on the rear window as the “rear camera”.

I've seen that there are firmware conversions from the S and T models to the TC model... but there aren't any firmwares converting from the TC to the S or T models... meaning there's no conversion to another model from the TC.
A329S
A329T
A329TC
A329WW
Are the same exact front camera / main unit.
The only difference is firmware.
From what I've read and understood, the RC400 rear camera could be connected to the rear port of the TC model where the telephoto camera originally connects?
Would this work properly in that port?
Yes.
The RC400 rear camera from A329 2CH (2024) is fully compatible with A329S 3CH (2025).
I have tested it myself.
The only difference between RC400, and RC420 is the external housing.
RC400 = CPL-500
RC420 = CPL-600
