I would like to install the A329S 3CH and have ordered the HK6 hardwire kit and a fuse kit (not the one from Viofo – it was not available). The HK6 says 18AWG + 22 AWG and the fuse kit says 16AWG. What AWG does the original Viofo have? Also 16 AWG? Can I use a higher cross-section 16 AWG to 18 or 22 AWG? The HK6 wires are also super thin in comparison.

Quick answer = yes you can use them together without a problem.

*AWG wire gauge ratings when the number is larger the wire is smaller and therefore the current it can handle will be less.
22awg is fine for dash cams for general car lengths use and ambient temperatures around 20-25 degrees c

In your photo it shows a large cable diameter but in that case it's because it is rated to handle voltage upto 600Volts! Depending on the insulating material used the thickness will vary.
