Anyone has an idea what the different ADAS chimes are on the Qvia QR790? I kinda figure out some but just want to know if there is a sample audio list.

This Dashcams makes way too many noises, it chimes for lane departure, if you get too close to the back of another vehicle and also chimes anytime the GPS signal is not constant, which happens to be quite a lot. I ended up having to turn the speaker off because it was so annoying.

Hi Ness, the sounds/chimes you hearing from the Qvia/Lukas dash cam's built in ADAS 2.0 (Advance Driving Assistance System). Here is the list of sounds and different meanings. 1.) Tin tin tin tin, tin tin tin tin (LDWS - Lane Departure Warning) 2. Ding Dong (FCWS - Forward Collision Warning) 3. koo koo (FVSA - Front Vehicle Sensor Alarm when standing still movement detected from either car in front moves off or pedestrians crossing) 4. TIRURU (WiFi Off - Within 5 minutes of turning on the car) 5. Taramm WiFi On - Automatically when starting the car) 6. Tin Tunn (Event/G-Sensor - Sensitivity can be changed) - Travel Safe !

I turned LDWS, FCWS and FVSA off and it still chimes all the time. In addition to that I am regularly unable to connect to the unit via wifi and I have to reformat the sd card before it will work again.

Mine made the same noises with everything set to be on or off. I could not see any way to silence the thing and it kept re-starting while I was driving (this seems not uncommon for many makes and models and is potentially easy to fix by hassling the manufacturer to get their firmware right). Ultimately it became an unused spare which is a pity because I think that if you take away the musical accompaniment then this camera is one of the very best out there.

Could anyone tell me which dash cam is better, the V790 or this camera the QR790-S. Ordered the V790 from Amazon, but seller said it would take to long to deliver so is "upgrading" me to the QR790. Am I getting a deal or getting duped? Thanks! :)

I have had a quick look, the basic detail would appear to be that the V790 is 1440 front and back, while the QR appears to be 1440 - 1080. The V790 would seem to be the better camera and also looks like it is the newer model as the QR range has been around for a while. Have look at the Lucas website or maybe talk to BlackBoxMyCar in Canada. I am nothing to do with any seller and have no loyalties, it is just that I found them very good when I was in Vancouver. There is also a company in Markham, Toronto, that was excellent and helpful, cannot remember their name though. I think talking to a retailer would be better than e-mail communication with a non-specialist.
