Welcome to the forum Eric S :) I have never thought it was very smart to challenge large vehicles while on a bicycle

Thank you, my first attempt posting.

hehe its only 1 hour since i told off a girl swerving on the road while texting on her damm phone, what i called her is not suitable for posting in here.

I dont get how a person on a bicycle, thats without a doubt the softest target on the road choose to expose them self even more for a like or what ever get ppl so hooked on the damm phones.

Thats what get me from time to time, as you know here in Denmark we have true freedom of speech, and so when i see US productions where the damm beep is in i get frustrated.
And it is getting worse, in the series NCIS we use to see all of the body on the slab in the basement, but now the corpse is blurred out too.

And so i argue we have no longer free speech here in little old Denmark, we might think we do but circumstances will have it another way.

If i was in charge sensored BS like that would be illigal here, so if they wish to sell ther series to a channel broardcasting in Denmark then send us the unedited version, dont force your standarts upon us dear American friends.

The screen over the mouth in that mythbusters episode allso pissed me off  some thimes i think,,,, " it cant be ? is Americans really bigger pussies than we Danes are "

Why did that guy go opposing traffic for so long? But in San Fransisco, they are much worse and more arrogant.

Must be filmed near High-Hashbury.

Thats my #1 priority if i ever get my hands on a time machine, go back and kick some hippie ass :D

No we is not.
Gun owning, porn loving, meat eating, truck driving, foul mouthed, alcohol swilling American here...I use styro-foam cups and don't recycle. I live dangerously....sometimes I even shampoo with my eyes open.
For every one American that wont stand up for their beliefs and rights, there are always 100 more that will stand in their place and man up.

That said, I think the whole world is becoming somewhat sissified. Too much PC this and you hurt my feelings that. The whole globe needs to man up.

Oh...and it goes with out saying..."God Bless Texas, God Bless America."

^^^^^^+1 :)

Sadly, the definition of an "alert bicyclist" nowadays seems to be one who checks over his shoulder and then continues with his dangerous manoeuvre anyway.
It's always a pleasure to see a cyclist who bucks the trend.

Exchange town with world.

This thread's title is inaccurate. There is no such thing as an "Alert Bicyclist". It seems that for most, riding a bicycle automatically reduces one's IQ by at least 80% and often more. They are lucky that God protects the stupid but the rest of us aren't.

Apart from the general amateurishness of many cyclists (and the roads are no safe place for squishy amateurs) there are two things they refuse to accept, despite how obvious they should be:
  1. Don't overtake long vehicles on the inside. Especially at/near a bend or junction. Please. Just don't. Ever. Seriously. This is how cyclists get squashed in the most horrific accidents.
  2. You do not have the right to move sideways into someone else's path. It doesn't matter that it is the only way to pass a parked car or avoid a pothole. You ... don't ... have ... the right to do it unless it is safe and you have checked it is safe. If it is not safe you should stop! The primary responsibility for your safety in this situation belongs to you, not the poor schmuck behind and to the side of you who is traveling responsibly at a steady speed, in a straight line, with clear road ahead of him.
I don't know what's worse. Those unaware of these dangers, those who are aware but do these things anyway, or those who argue against this basic common sense "because it's mah rights!!!"

If they could just master these two basic survival skills I could almost forgive all the other nonsense they do.
