Hey guys/gals,

Just recently got a Mini 0906 for my mom's car, and there's humming and static sounds coming from the AM radio when the Mini 0906 is powered on. This is not the case for FM radio, which is really strange.

I have checked the power for potential interference, turn's not that's not the case, since I have tried powering it from the car charger that it came with and also powering it using a portable battery bank as well. Any reasons why it would behave this way? Thanks.

Hello,

I have the same problem with FM. The back camera produces also these sounds. I think the cable should have been shielded. But it's a lot of work to put it out again .

Yeah, I think it has to be the data cable that's doing this. Once I unplugged the back camera, it stopped humming. I don't think there's an aftermarket data cable for this dashcam, is there?

Hi,
I don't know yet. I don't want to put hte old cable out there, a lot of work. If I know a better solution I will post it here.

There are several RFI threads here on DCT. Basically, it's all the same whether AM,FM,DAB,GPS, or whatever and the potential fixes are the same too.

Key points are distance between cam and antennas, between cam and devices, and distance with cabling. Ferrite chokes may also help.

I've found that ferrite cores help mitigate the interference a bit if not most of it
