Any news if Blackvue will have any new cams for 2019? The 1080p 750 has been out for few years now and the DR900 is nice 4K but night vision not that great.

Except that those holes will act as insulation, not cooling
Warm clothing/bedding/roof insulation/etc. all have holes throughout to act as insulation!
If you want holes to cool then you need something to cause airflow, either a fan or convection, but it can't have a fan without ruining the audio recording and there is not enough height in that camera design for convection. If they rotated it 90 degrees so that it could act as a chimney then it might work - that is one advantage of the wedge shaped cameras from Viofo and SG - air in at the bottom, heated in the middle and out at the top = convection = no overheating.
I have wondered why with BV cameras as thy are just a round tube why not have them in ALU in which you can make a lot of fins on the outside to dissipate the heat.
Of course you need some form of contact point inside to the hot components

For the older cameras it wasn't necessary, for the 4K camera, it is probably because if you get hold of a 70 degree C plastic camera then it will feel a bit warm, while if you get hold of a 70 degree C aluminium camera then you will be wanting to put your fingers into an ice bucket for the next day!
