Auto turn on for Yi cam?

Unfortunately these cams don't turn on automatically. Anyone poked around on ways to fix this?

A soft fix would be ideal but I'll resort to a hardware mod if necessary. Is the turn-on for Ambarella based devices done through software configuration?
 
Can we do it through the OS or AFT?
