I have changed my mobile phone and the app does not work on Samsung A55 5G android 14, ONE UI 6.1. I cannot connect to the camera's wifi.

I can confirm that Android 14, ONE UI 6.1.1 wich is on a S24 Ultra can't connect to the camera's wifi. The app version is 1.9.2 (i.e. with WiFi on-off).

Well, I guess I'd put it in the place most similar to the one I have now, start a recording, take the card out of the camera, put it in the laptop and check if the recording is correct or not, if it is correct, leave it as it is and if it is not, try again, changing the placement and repeating all the steps and so on until I find the right place or until I get bored, and in the latter case I would put it in the drawer of useless things and forget about that camera and the manufacturer.

Pues supongo que colocarla en el sitio más parecido al que tengo ahora, iniciar una grabación, sacar la tarjeta de la cámara, meterla en el portátil y verificar si la grabación es correcta o no, si es correcta dejarla como está y si no lo es volver a intentarlo variando la colocación y repitiendo todos los pasos y así sucesivamente hasta acertar con el sitio o hasta aburrirme y en este último caso la metería en el cajón de las cosas inservibles y me olvidaría de esa cámara y del fabricante.

So is the consensus that this an issue of using a modern Android phone to access an old app?

On Android 15 on a Pixel 8, (or indeed current iPhones) the is not app not working

I like the BW1s I have in 3 cars; they are old, but they are fine.
Would be a pity to have to bin them as I do not want to have to rely upon using a laptop / SD card reader

Any and all advice appreciated

Unfortunately I think that's it with this dash cam!
I'm in the same spot as you. I have 2 on my cars. Love them! With one of it I manage to solve, in my favor, a few years ago, an incident in traffic.
Samsung S24Ultra with Android14. App needs some permissions. Granted but still no connection.
So, for emergencies (God forbid!), I have in my car an usbC micro sd card reader. The other one is safe as the driver has an old android phone! 🙂
For any other situations... I'm using an old Samsung with Android 13. Or take the sd card out from dash cam and read it on my laptop. Or taking out the dash cam itself and read it with a microsub cable on my laptop.
Tried a couple of other dash cam app but they don't "see" the cam itself. I'll try some other cam app made by the developer (BeiShu) maybe I'll got lucky. Will keep you posted.
So far I'm using them as they are. As good as they keep working.

Based on yours and other feedback I have had, whilst they do still work and work 'okay' I want app control and access, so I have taken the decision to buy all 4 cars in the family Road Angel Halo Ignite's (on offer here in the UK this weekend)

Unfortunately the Halo app won't connect with the camera (yes, really!!!!!)
I have been over and over the setting, permissions, VPN's mobile data etc
Perhaps its an Android 14, 15 etc issue?

I chose Road Angel as they are and should remain a major brand in Dash Cams, so their support should be good / current.
Am about to find out.....

But the BW1's will be going on eBay shortly and its time over unfortunately
 
Just for info, I solved the Road Angel app issue (wrong app!) so they are going in over this week
