Hi

Seen a few of these so can assume its common. I use parking mode and my cam doesnt keep its charge (all hard wired using the official kit). I think i prob get 10 mins after the engine is switched off (if that)

A couple of questions

1. How can the battery be replaced?
2. Can we use a portable charger (power brick) when the engine is off (car parked up). I am worried the cam may not record as the battery would have died

Thanks

Hi there,

So, it sounds to me like, even though it's Hard Wired, you're connected to a Switch Live fuse.

If you change the fuse placement to a Permanent Live fuse and make sure 'Parking Mode' is on, this will stop your Dash Cam's battery from draining. The voltage cut-off on the Hard Wire Kit will prevent the Dash Cam from draining the car's battery either.

I hope this helps.
