New firmware V2.002 had been released for DR650GW-2CH as to improve the stability, you can download from our website www.blackvue.com.sg/download.html. Alternatively, you can update the firmware wirelessly using the Firmware Over the Air feature. Details at www.blackvue.com.sg/firmware-over-the-air.html.

What is up with blackvue and their low Mbps video's? The link shows 2.001 and up firmware is 6Mbps while the lower firmwares show High/Highest/Normal. Reviews have shown that bitrate use to be about 8Mbps. Are they lowering it?

Lower bit rate for smaller files to stream over the cloud.

Yes but the issue everyone has been complaining about here and went as far as using hacked firmware was because they felt the bitrate was too low. It should be about 11-15Mbps not going from 8 to 6

In my opinion 6Mps is too low for a Full HD dashcam, 12Mps is minimum , and 15Mps is the sweet spot

there's no blanket rule as different encoding means some chipsets perform better than others at the same bitrates, 6mbit is certainly very low though and they get a lot of macro blocking as a result in high contrast scenes
