Model: Blackvue DR650S-2CH
Firmware: 1.007_2017.07.03
Purchased: 2017, MAY 17

*** This is a long one and I apologize, but I wanted to include as much info as possible. Here goes! ***

I installed the Blackvue in my 2017 Toyota Highlander with the Power Magic Pro (PMP); firmware updated in July.

Early November I noticed the camera powers down 10 - 15 minutes after entering "parking mode."

The PMP's voltage and timer DIP switches are set for 12V and infinity, respectively (1= OFF, 2 - 5 = ON).

The config file shows that the LED's are off and WiFi auto on/off is disabled, yet as you can see in the image, the WIFI LED is still ON. IMG_0573.JPG

The System file shows power cycling, but I'm not sure what events the syslogs actually capture:

Hopefully someone can help. Can't seem to figure this one out. The vendor initially ignored my emails and after contacting BlackVue, I'm disappointed with their helpdesk. They want to pin the problem on the power cable feeding the camera or the PMP.

This only happens during parking mode - when the car is parked! If it was a loose power cable, I'd have random shutdowns while I'm driving.... Duh!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I would think the answer to this is where you have connected your power wires to. I would bet that one of them is on a circuit that has delayed turn off and after 15 mins the car shuts it down. Best way is to meter out where you are going to connect the power sources connect the multi meter so you can see it from outside through the window. Hook it up to the sources shut the door and leave it as you would when parked and have a coffee Go back after 30 mins and see if you still have power Bet you havent on this one.

Lots of newer cars do this. my Vw's especially

Is annoying when you offer good advice and the Op never bothers to come back or acknowledge in any way. Makes you wonder if its worth trying to help some people
