Introducing BlackVue DR900S-2CH IR, the New Taxi Dash Cam Standard

BlackVue introduces DR900S-2CH IR, a dual-channel taxi dashcam sporting a 4K UHD front camera and driver-facing Full HD infrared camera.
The DR900S-2CH IR checks all the boxes when it comes to providing protection to drivers on the road and when away from their vehicle.
Whether you drive a taxi, work for a ride-hailing service (Uber, Lyft) or enjoy carpooling (ride-share), this BlackVue dashcam will provide the peace of mind you’re craving.
Amazing 4K Ultra HD front recording
The 8 megapixel front camera of the DR900S-2CH IR records not only gorgeously detailed but most importantly useful footage day and night. The ultra-wide lens (162°) takes great advantage of the 3,840 x 2,160 pixels resolution so that everything in front of your vehicle is recorded faithfully.
Clarity even in the absence of light
Most crucial in a taxi dashcam is the quality of the driver-facing camera. The inconspicuous Full HD interior camera is equipped with infrared LEDs that light up in the dark—although nearly invisible to the human eye. It results in clear videos even in pitch black lighting conditions, perfect for night drives and Parking Mode monitoring. Worth mentioning, the interior camera is connected to the main camera via a video cable (1.5 meters/4.9ft default length). This lets you install it anywhere in the front of the car.
Great fidelity, small video files
Thankfully, both image quality and compression are kept at the highest level. Like the other DR900S Series models, DR900S-2CH IR features HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding), the standard developed originally for 4K video broadcast. With HEVC, videos from the front and interior cameras look great without increase in file size. Which is handy to transfer files over Wi-Fi or the Cloud.
Super fast file transfer
In an emergency, there is nothing more frustrating than dealing with buffering. In case of accident, it’s good to know that DR900S-2CH IR will let you find the video proof you need really fast. There are two ways BlackVue makes this possible. First, the DR900S-2CH IR is equipped with a 2.4-5GHz Wi-Fi module that transfers files at blazing speed. Second, the DR900S-2CH IR features BlackVue’s Sub-Stream technology. Simply put, Sub-Streams are tiny-sized versions of the videos used for quick viewing before downloading the original file to your phone. This way, even if your phone does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi, you can still preview videos instantly.
Cloud compatibility
The DR900S-2CH IR is compatible with BlackVue Over the Cloud. Whether you use the free service or opt for a paid plan, BlackVue Over the Cloud adds a valuable layer of protection for when you are away from your vehicle. Get notifications on your phone when the dashcam detects an impact on your parked car. Check on your vehicle remotely front or interior cam) remotely. Note: BlackVue Over the Cloud requires a Wi-Fi hotspot in range of the dashcam.
SD Card Failure Alert
The release of the DR900S-2CH IR also coincides with the introduction of a new feature: SD Card Failure Alert, which actively checks that data is being recorded correctly on the microSD card.
This feature is now available to all DR750S and DR900S Series dashcams via firmware update.

Note: DR900S-2CH IR and DR750S-2CH IR share the same IR Interior camera.
