Does anyone know or can recommend me good body cameras that last more than 2 hours?
Or can direct me to the best place?

I have been searching the net for some but there seems to be no forums... and the most educated on DVR's are here.

Thanks.

Cameras that you attach to your T-Shirt for security or policing work etc.

Basically start recording when an incident is going to happen. There are Pen DVR's but they have little recording time.

if you want something where you have to remember to record then there's the chance that the user would forget, if you want it to record all the time then there are storage and battery considerations, around 10 hours recording is around the practical limit without ending up with something overly heavy, even as it is the device would end up in a utility belt, we're preparing a quote now for police use in Australia, SA police have been trialing this unit http://www.signalone.com.au/content_com ... corder.seo at the moment, what we are preparing is not integrated with the mic like that and would be a bit different in functionality, depends on quantities how affordable something like this might be for your use, if it's only small volume you will find your choices a bit limited, I've seen people use this type of cam with a different camera piece for security work http://www.racerecall.com/radcam-radcam ... 9_128.html

I want a device that is pushed to activate. Not constantly recording. Hopefully for at least four hours roughly. Something that will fit on a police vest or shoulder mounted. Hopefully under $200.

You mean something like this http://www.ozspy.com.au/products/1-Hidd ... Recording/

I actually have this particular model which I never got around to using. I'd be happy to sell it to you for $200 delivered if your interested.

Cheers :) Mario

Hello again,

Just opened up the box to look at the battery for the DVR. It's a KB-01 Li-on 3.7v 900mAh battery. After a bit of a quick Google quest I've discovered that it's the same as the Sony Ericsson BST40 battery. After a little bit more digging I found this battery http://www.yoobao.com/en/product.asp?b_ ... 3&a_id=381 which is 1800mAh and it should theoretically give around 4 hours life to the DVR. The only downside is that it has twice the thickness of the original battery but will still fit, just without the battery cover in place. I have no idea of the cost or availability of this battery, there may even be other alternatives, as my search was pretty quick.

Another option is that the DVR uses a standard USB connector for charging. You could just use a portable battery pack to run it off.

Just putting it all out there for you.

maybe a USB power bank is a way to extend the time, there'd either need to be a compromise on budget or specification I would think, $200 doesn't buy much in this type of product otherwise unfortunately
