I have a 2012 Ford Mustang with an available USB 2.0 Mini B, 5-Pin female connection on the back of the the vehicle's MyFordTouch SYNC Module.

Is it possible to wire and power the SG9665GCv3 with a standard USB 2.0 Mini Male-to-Male 15 foot cable?

If this isn't possible, is there another USB 2.0 Mini B male-to-male cabel with the required transformer that I can use?

Thank you.

No, the built in USB port on a computer or in a vehicle doesn't put out enough amperage and also could trigger a data enabled mass storage event.

If you want a clean install, better to hard wire with a CPUSB01, Vico-Power PLUS, or you can even cut the cig plug off the GC power supply and DIY your own hard wire kit. (since the 12v/5v power supply is in-line up the cable)

Thank you for the quick reply. I don't want to draw power from the cigarette lighter, so, looks like going directly the fuse box is the way to go. I'll look into the CPUSB01, Vico-Power PLUS as you mentioned.

Thanks again!
