Cellink B with A129 Duo HK3

OK I got my Viofo HK3 3 wire kit and something has just dawned on me. Why do I need to splice anything? Surely I can just add these three wires to the Molex and then plug it straight into the Neo 6? The wires are 20 AWG which is the max size allowed by the Molex pins. No need for any extra wires, I can just chuck a ferrite ring on this too before I add the connector and then I have a proper Neo 6 to Viofo output cable with no extra wires?

Yes, correct (y) Sorry, was going to mention that but forgot! Just make sure you double check the pins are correct before you push them in.

Just make sure the wires can withstand 9 Amps at 12 V :)
These are just the DC out wires from battery to camera, a 20awg wire (x3) will be just fine as it doesn't have to handle 9 amps at 12v, camera is pulling 0.3a at most from battery. The official hardwire kit for charging that came with the Cellink is far more substantial and built to handle 9 amp at 12v I guess.

OK all done and working perfectly! Parking mode kicks in as soon as engine is turned off. I did end up splicing wires as the red, yellow and black wires on the HK3 had a very thick sleeve, too thick for the Molex pin blades to grip when crimped. I found my old Hobbyking crimping tool and it worked perfectly, no need for solder in the pins. Ferrite ring added too. All sorted.

I did my own hpc3/4 connection thanks to the post on this tread. Thanks a lot. Can you confirm how to connect the cables? Can someone confirm if I’m correct:
Red - power when ignition on
Yellow - power when ignition off (parking mode +)
Black - ground
Green ??????

Many thanks
Adam

Hi there i i have same set up but was wondering if someone can help me , as above the wire coming from cellink to camera going to the viofo lead to power the camera , do you need the parking mode voltage box thing, i cut my viofo lead so the voltage monitor box so the lead no longer used the voltage monitor box , i just wanted to lead with the usb connection on the end to connect to the camera so i cut it and joined it to the cellink neo lead that is the output for camera power , my camera won’t turn on now is this because I deleted the viofo hard wire box, my thought was that voltage monitor box was not needed when the cellink neo battery was used.
any help much appreciated,

You do need it unfortunately as the "box" converts the 12volts from the cellink to 5volts used by the camera
