Certain type of sd card

For 1 channel you should at the very least get 64GB of memory, with a 1080p resolution camera, that will hold about 8 hours of driving.
If you can afford a larger card than that it is by no means silly to do, memory cards have a "set"number of write cycles it can do, so as a larger card take longer to fill up, so it should also last longer then.
So getting 128 GB for a camera or 256 GB if you buy a dual channel system are also fine, and most cameras of a current hardware will support that.

Next up is brand of memory card, and this is where it get a little bit dicey, some brands like Blackvue and Thinkware seem to active do all they can so their cameras only work with their branded cards, so a little care have to be made if you go there.
If we talk A1 branded memory cards, you can almost go with any major brand. Adata - sandisk - Transcend - kingston - Samsung - Toshiba - WD ( Western Digital )
A2 branded memory cards are even better but most often not needed, but if you get a super deal then A2 will be fine too

Lexxar used to be popular and good, but after new owners took over they rearely pop up, also older sandisk ultra ( non A1 marked can be problematic )

Otherwise in general most dashcams will work just fine with any brand memory card, today memory cards have several types of rankings, A1 branded cards are recommended.
Also you might want to see if the memory card have warranty when used in dashcams, many more have this today, from regular A1 cards to the so called endurance cards.
These cards might be a little more expensive, but compared to a few years ago, their current availability and price are almost a steal.
The new Sandisk endurance / extreme endurance and the new WD purple memory cards are popular and have warranty for use in dashcams

Memory card in general.
Dont go hunting in obscure corners of the internet for rock bottom prizes, memory cards are popular items for fakes, so buy from a reputable seller, local store, sold by and fulfilled by local Amazon, ASO

I've just been through the fake card thing, both eBay.
If the price is too good, it'll be fake.
I bought a real one (256) at Best Buy, and another one at Office Depot.
Then recently, two real ones from eBay. They passed the h2testw test, https://h2testw.en.lo4d.com/windows
The stores, SanDisk, were about 50 bucks each and the eBay, Samsung, 40 bucks.

In general your answers are HERE but we can better advise on specific cams, as some cams are quite picky about what cards work well in them

One thing about cards consistent to all cams is that fakes abound and you should buy only from known good sellers. If a deal seems too good to be true then it probably is

Depends on your dash cam. For a single camera dash cam, 64GB sd card is enough. For dual camera dash cam, you need at least 128GB sd card or 256GB if you got the money
