Good day guys,

I am thinking of renting a car on my next vacation and would like a dashcam. The dashcam would have to be a suction cup mount for quick installation and compact form factor so that I can stuff it in a small pouch when I fly to my destination and pick up a rental car.

From what I have read the Vantrue E1 Pro ticks almost all the boxes with a super mini cube size, Sony Starvis 2 sensor etc.
The suction cup mount is not standard and a add on accessory though so that means additional cost.

Are there any other dashcams that are also suitable?

Thanks

Welcome to the club @9w6vx
Or should I say "welcome back".
E1 Pro is my top pick for temporary / rental car applications due to the suction cup mount.
However, the all-new E1 Pro S is rumored to be coming out next month.

@Chuck McCoy

So in your expert opinion the E1 Pro is the top pick for suction cup mount.

I am in no rush ........... will wait for the new E1 Pro S. Do you have the specifications or price?

The E1 Pro is around USD$138 from Vantrue official store and not including the suction cup mount.

First, and foremost the only expertise I have is being stupid, stubborn, and quick to anger.
That’s my killer combo 🤣

@jsmith said he’s currently testing it, I would get it straight from the horses mouth.

Sounds familiar to me. LOL. I think my wife say's the same about me.

The E1 Pro is a great camera.

Roger that @jsmith and thanks

You're welcome. I cannot think of any other camera that small, offering 4k, and utilizes a suction cup from a reliable brand. You definitely don't want to purchase a no name dashcam that lets you down. Consider this investment money well spent. My dashcams have proven useful in multiple accidents (not my fault).

+1 for the E1 Pro.
A nice little unit with the suction cup. It has been very reliable for me.

Another option would be the Vantrue N2X. They also offer a suction cup for it and you would have the additional interior camera.

If 4K isn't a must, you could also consider the Thinkware Q200 1CH, which is a reliable 2K option that also works with an optional suction mount. They also have the F70 Pro that works with the same suction mount, but it is only 1080p.

Hey, Im coming! I agree with what everyone’s saying!

E1 Pro: A compact front-only dashcam with 4K and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. You can view and download footage on your phone. No rear camera to install or long cable to run, so it’s a good balance of portability and video quality.

N2X: Records the road ahead and the cabin, with both cameras built into the main unit. No need to run a cable to the rear window. I’d lean toward this one only if you also want to record inside the car.

Just go with whichever works best for you! Thanks for choosing Vantrue!

I have used the E1 Pro twice in rental cars on family trips which required packing small & light for the flights. Combined with the suction cup it works really well for quick setup, and easy removal when you hand the car back.

Hey, Im coming!
Can you tell us when E1 Pro S will have full release? ✋🍆🤚💦🎉😍

Aww sir, we’re still waiting for everyone’s feedback to optimize, but it should be soon. Thank you for your patience. We also hope to bring a product that is made with care, rather than one that was created just for the sake of launching.

I'm rooting for you.
Can't wait to compare E1 Pro S with A119M Pro.
E1 Pro (2025) Bitrate is too low above 45MPH, and too dark at night time.
If E1 Pro S (2026) can fix those two things it will be a winner in my book.

That was smooth 😎
