Hello floks

Asking for friend.

He have two A119 dvrs without gps.
One of them doesn't respond to power at all.

I suggested to check:
-capacitors, they look fine.
-ribbon cable, unplaged it, no response to power yet.
-power supply works great with the other dvr but doesnt work with the faulty one.

Any other suggestions?

Switch PS's or cams around to see what happens- this will verify that the PS's are OK. Then after that do the same with the SD cards. Those 2 areas are where most problems occur with all dashcams. Nice to have identical cams to do this with as that ensures compatibility .

Please try to copy the firmware to the SD card, then connect the camera with computer to see if any response, if no response, maybe dead. Please PM me or submit a ticket on our official website.

Same problem here - dead on power-up. No splash screen, all buttons do nothing, and reset button makes no difference. Same when powered in-car through GPS mount and when USB powered externally. Tried different micro SD cards and tried to reinstall firmware but unit unresponsive. Windows 10 Device Manager reports it as NT96660 but drivers not installed (code 28), and says there are no compatible drivers for this device. Any ideas what to try next?

Have you tried another miniUSB cable?

Tried that, and different power adaptors too. Same result. USB cable powers A118 OK, A119 appears dead although Windows 10 can apparently see it but not recognise it.

Do any lights come on? Tired without a memory card inserted?

No lights come on. No different without memory card.

Windows 10 can apparently see it but not recognise it.
Windows should see the camera as "Removable Disk" only, like an external removable hard / flash drive.
try a different cable.

Can anyone recommend a good UK source for a genuine VIOFO A119 dashcam?

Thanks for all your feedback. Dashcam definitely dead. Ebay supplier estore009 not very helpful, wants postage paid both ways to China to repair even though still under warranty. VIOFO themselves much more concerned and helpful. Will deal with them again.

maybe you'll have better luck with the @estore009 rep here on the forum?
Could you mind to talk it to me directly on the fornm?
We did offer 1 year warranty for our ebay transaction, and we offer full refund and plus postage with 1year warranty,no worry about it!
