Connect to dash cam wifi and mobile data at the same time

Hey guys just got my new dr650s and need a bit of help.

Im trying to connect my phone to my dash cam its a galaxy s8 running android os 7.0 and it connects to my dash cams wifi but says no internet available. Is there something im missing?

Sorry if this has been asked before my google fu is not the best...

My Nexus 6 is running Android 7.0 too and I have internet access through my phone's 4G connection even though my wifi says no internet with a little x on it when connected to my dr650s over wifi in the car.

Have you tried opening up a website while it says that? It should still work.

Yep I've tried that it must be a limitation with Samsung. I definitely cant access a webpage while connected to the camera. Also in the wifi view it says cant show location because you are not connected to the internet.

Wifi Settings -> Advanced -> Smart Network Switching -> Turn on (on the S8)
I have the 8+
