Dear all,

I bought this dash cam
https://www.amazon.it/gp/B07RY95YZ9 that has a 2,5mm jack for AV in. I open the camera that came with the dashcam to know wich pin was the video signal. Unfortunately I am not able to connect any universal camera. Can sameone help me? Why does the cameras are not compatible with the dash cam? Could it be that the original one is a CMOS and the universal id CCD? Any ideas? Thanks!!

Jokiin, in the manual there is nothing helpfull, just says to connect properly the camera....
Butterfly, I cannot return the dashcam because i open the shield of the rear camera to have a look to the wiring. I saw a GND, +5V, D+ e D-. So it is like a USB cable....

does it work ok with the included rear camera?
is the rear camera just a single cable that plugs in at the front or does it have any other connectors?

Yes it works fine. The camera has a 5 pin connector that must be connected to another long cable that ends with 2.5mm jack that can be inserted in the dashcam. The long cable has a red wire that can be connected to +12V backup light, so that when you go reverse gear, on the dashcam appears the rear view and the camera switchs on the leds.
Here an example: https://it.aliexpress.com/item/3295...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_5,searchweb201603_55

possible the rear camera is AHD, if it is then the other ones you've been trying that are CVBS won't work

another possibility is that the mirror does not have AV sensing so it also requires the power signal from the camera to trigger the input to change, hard to know for sure with no name generic solutions as they change often

probably better just to stick with the camera it came with

I also try with original camera and RCA wireless transmitter, but it didn't work.
I dont think it needs a power input because when it is plugged you always see rear view on the display. Just when you are in reverse, the image became bigger.
Thanks!
