My last dash cam, (I think it was a version by Electroflip) supposedly had to be powered off before turning off the engine, or there was a risk of losing the last recored data. This characteristic made for a dubious feature in a camera I hoped would record the last few seconds of an accident, since most serious crashes result in engine shutdown.
Or am I misunderstanding something?
I want to make sure I have a camera for which this will not be an issue, and also one that I can just mount and forget about.
I'd like to turn on the engine on and have the camera start recording, Then turn off the engine and it stops and saves data. And it keeps recording in a loop, till I tell it to stop.
Cigarette/auxiliary power is also needed, since I don't want to be changing batteries.
Beyond that, I don't care.
Any suggestions?
