Hi,
I've been doing some reading on selecting a dashcam for the purpose of taking videos along scenic roads. I've got interested in Vava dashcams since they have the ability to be rotated 360 degrees so I can take moments from inside the car.
The confusion is that they come in 2models: The latest is 2k model with a higher resolution (https://www.vava.com/product/VAVA Dash Cam 2K-VD005-p-12.html)
This one sells for $130 and does not include GPS and snapshot button (extra $30).

This one sells for $139 including the GPS and snapshot button. And it uses Sony Sensors.

Any recommendations?
appreciate your times

A dashcan are not really the optimal tool for scenic drives, or journey logging for sharing, you would want something that are not as wide angle as dashcams so you don't have A pillars - Dashboard or car hood in the footage.
We had a US user in here that do stunning videos, but he use a camcorder, that granted are much harder to install, but then you can take it out and do captures at points of interest along the drive.
Here is his youtube channel.

You would also want something that are better at handling a lot of info, so something that have a higher bitrate then dashcams that can choke in high detail density areas.

Last year i did a 9 hour drive around Denmark / the top of Jutland and captured that with my Sj6 Legend dashcam using 1080/60 and narrow FOV, but not really that narrow after all.
I have upscale to 4K in post production as youtube tend to ruin my 1080p footage.

You will also need to do all you can to eleminate dashboard reflections in the windscreen, for this you need a CPL filter and a black dashmat or something black deaped over the top of your dashboard.

You can of course crop your way out of having dashboard and A pillars in the footage, but not a route i would go unless you are using 4K footage, and most 4K cameras don't do well with extended recording periods.
