Dash cam got red hot and the screen is blank

I used it for a long trip 6-7 hours, it worked fine and then I noticed the screen had gone off and it the unit was red hot. The blue light goes on and it makes the startup sound but no screen. I’ve taken the memory card out, drained the battery but no joy. Shall I bin it or is it fixable?

Hi there.

Sorry to hear you're having 312 issue. I've got a couple of extra suggestions of things to try;

1) Press the re-set button on the bottom of the Dash Cam (you'll need a pen or something small)
2) Instead of powering the Cam through the mount, try powering it through the Camera's port itself.
3) If you have one, try a completely separate USB Mini power cable and give it a good 3 hour charge inside the house (don't use the same cables as using in the car).
