Hi everyone, I am thinking of getting a dashcam for my car. Here is my burning question: lets say if were ever in an accident and it was my fault, am I required by law to give the dashcam footage (which might prove me at fault) to the police or do I have a choice to not disclose it applinked app?
I am sure this has been asked before but I searched around and couldn't find a more recent answer. Sorry if this is a repeat!!

I’m not a lawyer, but I think the answer is yes, but only if the police have a warrant for your memory card, or if they need to secure evidence of a serious incident, and then they can only look at the video if they obtain a warrant for the data, so it has got to be a serious incident before they can use it against you.

As long as you are a reasonable driver then the recordings are far more likely to be useful than a problem.
