Dash Cam says 'USB connected' when plugged into power supply.

As the title says, now when my dash cam is connected to my cars lighter socket, it does not record and just displays 'USB connected'. It used to just power up and start recording as soon as power was connected. I think it is a generic Chinese camera. Model no. is QV-3840. The manual has only basic information. Any ideas?

It may be in computer mode and wish to act like a harddrive, there might be somthing in the menus to change, or maybe reset to default.

Thanks Kamkar, I already tried the factory reset. Nothing in the settings/menu to change the mode either. It worked fine one day, and then started doing this the next.

Hardware failure, time to shop for a new one if the warranty is out

Just try a different charger cable.
They are cheap. You can also test with phone charger.
If that doesn't work, time for new one.
